Why span, clueless, and disagree? I thought that was a beautiful and well written piece.<quoted text>
Yes, you are correct she did abstain from the vote on the SSCC lease and the vote to amend JW's contract too BTW. Why abstain and not recuse? People abstain when they have little information or knowledge on something being voted upon. People recuse when they are linked to the matter being voted upon in some way.
You would think that the Patch would do real journalistic reporting on such topics of community interest. It would behoove them to have had a headline that stated
"BOE vice president's 10 year partner from SSCC finds a new home at Westbrook ES"
What great news. The SSCC, which provides nursery school for many of WI's families has
found a new home in the recently shuttered Westbrook ES. The two directors of the school
have just recently gone their separate ways. We wish them both great success.
It's so fantastic that a BOE member and her close friend and partner from SSCC were able to
dissolve their partnership so that West Islip could have revenue coming into our community
from the newly leased Westbrook school.
The West Islip community doesn't know how to thank you both enough for
sacrificing your business partnership for a bigger cause, in the grander scheme of things,
the students of our district.
Your benevolence is a rarity around here.
It's rare to find two people so concerned and selfless, thankfully the combination of owning a business in this town, and being on so many committees and boards sure does help to get the job done, which is why we are so appreciative of the countless hours and sacrifices that were made by you both.
We can't wait to see what's in store for our future.
I would have enjoyed an article similar to the one above. Journalism is dead.

I'm sorry, but don't you people think this is news worthy? This story should be headline news for at least the Patch if not every other local news organization.
It's a feel good story, don't you think. These two friends should receive an award for being willing to sacrifice a partnership so that we can all benefit by this lease. It's annoying to me that this great show of selflessness hasn't been published so that we all know who is behind it.
I think Patch needs to write this story!
#23 Mar 14, 2013
There are seven members of the BOE. One abstained and two were not there, so only four voted in favor of the SSCC to occupy Westbrook. Give those four an award too!

By the end of today, there had better be more than just one NUTS, DISAGREE, SPAM, FUNNY, INCENDIARY, on my posts, or I am going to believe I'm getting through to some of you and you know how much you wouldn't want that.
Write the feel good story already!

There's a damn good legal reason why Larosa didn't RECUSE herself the vote and instead chose to ABSTAIN from it.
She's as calculated and as slippery as they come folks.

I can't believe that Patch took down Pattie J's post and closed the comments. There wasn't anything in Pattie J's post that wasn't true and it didn't call Annmarie Larosa any names. Why was it taken down by Greg Sleter? Why did Greg Sleter let all those horrible posts about the boy that got hit by a car on Udall stay up for everyone to read on Patch but he took down posts and closed out comments about his buddy Annmarie Larosa?

Journalism is dead. The liberals are AFRAID that if CITIZENS knew what the ego maniacs in public office were doing with our money there would be an all out revolution.
Journalsim is dead. Morons tweet where they are drinking coffee at. I know you can't see the leash around his neck, but it's there.
Just look at what happens right here in this sleepy little Hamlet.
Just think about it. If this arrangement concerning Mrs. LaRosa and her (ex) partner was considered
to be morally acceptable, with nothing to hide, Patch should have had a headline like the one
I've described lauding the wonderful and benevolent and generous decision between the two for the sake of our community. The two selflessly bailing us out by agreeing to go their separate ways, so that one could lease out Westbrook to help our district financially.
Now that's a story.
I may just call Newsday and ask them if they would run this story. I think it needs to be reported to the public because it's a refreshing change for once happening in this god forsaken society.

It's not that hard to figure out. It's called censorship. So many gross comments made about non-public officials, accusations about teenagers, disgusting and heartless, but should concerned citizens focus in on the machinations of certain public figures, Mr. Sleter takes issue with it and closes down the thread.
How can he even begin to justify his partisanship is beyond me. Thank goodness he's good at tweeting about the weather, at least he's got something to fall back on because he sucks at being impartial and balanced. He's a libnerd.

Whoever said Larosa scours forums 24/7 doing damage control is right. Louis from Patch has vanished and now Tom is posting instead. She's got a pretty bad case of penis envy doesn't she.
#30 Mar 14, 2013
This Patch stuff is crazy! I can't believe there taking down posts that aren't doing anything other then disagreeing with Sleter's friend from the bd of ed! Absolutely nuts. Boycott Patch.

Wendy, you are so obsessed.

You are a nutty nutty fruitcake Jethro.

Okay, thank you.
Now go petition your buddy at the patch (or is this you) to stop tweeting, and write that feel good story about the two friends (one a trustee of the BoE) whom many feel, has financially BAILED OUT WEST ISLIP SD, by being willing (tear) to sacrifice a precious, and long term business arrangement.
Such a touching and selfless act, whereby one of them, by virtue of their separation, is going to help us all out, by agreeing (dear heart) to lease space in our district,(we're not worthy) during a time of dire financial woes.
Such saints, so truly inspiring, what amazing human beings. The decision must have been heart wrenching indeed. I am sure that this arrangement was a terrible sacrifice to bear, but it's better to give than receive. I hope the children will make their adjustments into our beloved school and thrive while utilizing all the little extras that go along with the lease, because you deserve the best!
If there is anything the citizens of our district can do to repay the kindness, we are forever in your debt, and eternally grateful.
Ya know what? I bet the new Pope might even consider them for the Benemerenti (good merit) award as one of his first acts in his official position, let me give him a call.

You're right. They don't want anyone to disturb their plans. They love sheep. Sheep do what the shepherds make them do.
#35 Mar 18, 2013
I'm still being censored on WI Patch b/c I had the gall to point out that ANNMARIE LAROSA is the common thread in everything that's going on and they can't have anyone pointing out the obvious now can they? Bad, bad Pattie. It kills them that my kids are out of school and they can't hold it over my head.
