first of all..its not a drag race....what they were doing was road racing....going in and out of traffic ...a drag race is a quarter mile...or light to light race.......for acceleration...not zig zaggin out like these morons do...so lets get it straigth...as for that nimrod...good...one less moron on the road.....hope they catch the other one..before he takes someone else out..hopefully hell hit a bridge too....

Too bad, so sad. No loss. At least the moron didn't kill anyone else. I have no pity for jerks like this who put other people's lives in danger. Rest in hell.

Oak Street in Copiague at 11:50 at night isn't busy with traffic and it is a stretch of road with mostly commercial buildings and no traffic control devices that runs along the elevated Babylon line of the LIRR. The street is more narrow than Rt. 231 South of Sunrise Highway where kids used to race down to Union Blvd., a number of whom also killed themselves after losing control.

It's awful that lives are lost this way. Did the counties ever think of creating an area or track of some sort. That way the kids can have some where to go to race and be under supervision.
Deer Park avenue is another area where they race. My deepest sympathy goes out to the family.

Agree that newsday should learn the difference between road racing and drag racing.

Gotta love those concrete pillars.

It's horrible to read what you people are writing here: "oh well..." "Dumb Polack" "too bad, too sad" I can keep on going... what is wrong with you people? Who wishes anyone death no matter what the person did in their life? All you should be saying is that Thanks God none else got hurt. First you should think if you never made any stupid choices in your life, and there is not one perfect person anywhere in this world, so think before you say such horrible things. I didn't know Kamil that well but NONE deserves phrases such as: "Rest in Hell" or "Dumb Polack"- who do you think you are to say this? Seriously think before you say something bad because once you know it, watch yourself make a stupid mistake and God forbid get yourself killed. My deepest sympathy goes to Kamil's family and his friends who are also my friends...

Your comment is sickening... of all the times to try and make fun. Do us a favor and slam into a tree so I can make fun of you. Long Islanders make me sick... This kid obviously made a mistake that cost him his life. Like you've never ever ever exceded the speed limit.
It wasn't a "mistake", it was an act of reckless indifference to the lives of others.

He was not a kid, he was 21 years old. Old enough to know he shouldn't drive that way.

Racing is not merely exceeding the speed limit, so don't try and equate what this idiot did, with someone else driving 60 in a 55 zone. Not the same thing.

As someone who drives the Southern State 30 miles each direction to and from work every day, I see idiots like this every single day.

This time, every one else got lucky---Don't expect sympathy from people whose lives are placed in jeopardy every single day by selfish, reckless morons like this.

How dare you people! Have you no sympathy for the dead? I was Kamilo's friend, we all called him Kam and he was a good person!!!
HOW COULD YOU PEOPLE BE SO CRUEL? PRAY FOR HIM!!!!!!!!!!1
OK OK, I'm kidding....good riddance to another LI road hazard.
Gotta agree with you, good riddance to these juvi punk speedracer idiots. They think they are somebody, but they don't know what real racing is. Real racing is done on the quarter mile track for timeslips, and race track officals who keep it real.
You playing fools with drag racing on highways in your heads are just losers. Go learn at the real race track, and find out what bracket racing is all about, and how real race cars are built. Your little chip mechanical skills and turbo tubes and nitrous are just little boy games, so get real if that is what you really want to do; real racing.
The kid was a fool and thankfully didn't take somebody else along his reckless path with him.

Pony up the money and you can rent that dump in Riverhead. Till then keep your bs off the roads that we all use.

Do you feel sad when cops take our kidnappers or bank robbers? Are you sad that the 9/11 hijackers are dead?
