These are important organizations that play a vital role in the lives of many Long Islanders. It is essential that we support them, and I would be very happy to see my tax dollars go to these institutions. I urge the county and state legislature to find the money to keep Long Island's museums open.

I don't like to see our cultural institutions take hits while taxpayer cash continues to flow in ever-increasing amounts to services for illegal aliens and professional welfare collectors.

Museums are a luxury, there also a toy for the political's, patronage job's and contracts. Running a home and saving for retirement is reality paying the mortgage is reality.

You know nothing about museums. They provide education and inspiration for children and adults, volunteer opportunities for seniors and the disabled. Most of the people who work in them get paid nearly nothing and for the operating cost of one year of a museum isn't enough cash to fill the potholes on your street.

Maybe you should put down the remote and take a day out from your shopping at Wal-Mart and see what they are really about. Even though you are obviously a moron, I'm sure you would be treated with dignity and respect at your local museum.

People who are truly in the upper echelon find it gauche to call attention to it. Maybe you should go to a museum and and learn about those you wish to emulate.
