UI is at their old ways again. Just as nesting season begins and egg laying has begun they decide to remove the nests? Why now at the worst time of the season. Is it their cruel way to thwart egg laying and upset these birds? obviously!! Its the usual mean spirited people who are behind this and WE ALL know who they are. I will not mention names . They are the same group who wanted then killed .

Anybody who doesn't care about the wildlife probably doesn't care about anyone or anything besides themselves.

Sorry, can't contain myself on this one. I can't stand animal hating humans. Get over it - they have every right to be here just like us! THE FACT THAT GOD GAVE THEM LIFE IS A RIGHT IN ITSELF! Whether you like it or not! The earth can certainly do WITHOUT humans like you. You only make this world worse with you're hating, evil, cruel, dispositions. Get lost!! I hope a gigantic bird pecks your stupid brain out of your head!

You all should Open your doors and let the birds live with you since you care about them so much. Again what are you going to do when the power goes out ? Call U I and complain? As long as in not in your back yard you have a voice on it.

All the UI is doing is removing the nests that interfere with electrical service, now is the time to do it while these birds are building new nests. These Monk Parrots are true survivors, this is a better solution than when the UI was killing these birds

I also agree with Long.
As long as they are not in your back yard your lips will flap, But put a nest in you yard and we will see what come out of your foolish mouths.

I would love the birds to be in my backyard. If they removed the nests in the fall I would understand, but removing them now will kill the eggs they are laying.Leave them alone till the babies are old enough to fly. What is them harm of a month or so?

Look, I don't hate animals, but they're not exactly contributing members of society, now are they? When was the last time a monk parakeet invented a life-saving vaccine, or a cow or a dog invented a new high-efficiency vehicle? When was the last time a horse or a cat paid taxes? Animals are not "just like us" and no amount of wishing is going to change that.

Look, the UI is in fact removing the nests BEFORE breeding season begins. So, they are not disturbing any eggs or displacing any young. These birds are not native to CT and they do not belong here. The fact that the nests can weigh up to 300+ lbs and are very flammable. If the pole catches fire not only do you lose power but telephone service would be interupted. what if one of your family members lives near one of these poles and needs to contact Police, Fire or Medical responders and cannot do so. Stop the bleeding heart, tree hugging B.S and try to see the big picture here. It's not about the birds, it's not about you or me...It's about safety!!!
