I think the lifeguards should be well-versed in lightning safety, yes. How long would that training take? Five minutes? At Surf club, they made everyone get out of the water, then off of the beach, then away from the trees at the picnic area, but they didn't know enough to unlock the building and put the stragglers (church picnickers) inside instead of on the porches. Where they were in grave danger. That's just stupid. If any good can come from such a tragedy, I hope there is far more awareness of what to do in the future.
Belinda, i doubt you could have made any more obnoxious comments than the last 2 or 3 i just read... these are people, not lemmings, do you really expect in every case of emergency for the circumstances to be explained with attention to EVERY DETAIL? there is pouring rain and lightning, the beach is cleared, the pavillion is not part of the BEACH, and what would "lightning safety" pertain to? i don't think any amount of training can prevent a natural disaster, you ignorant hag

Dude, you can't even stick with the thread!! The article is about a guy getting struck by lightening and you launch into this whole thing about exotic cars! WTF. I was making fun because your post was soooo ridiculous! You give me way too much material to work with!!! Now, go have another Milwakee's Best and take your car magazine into the bathroom!!!
Again, dude, take some Xanax. Why are you so upset? I made a comment on the poor man's interesting name, and you chose to fly off the handle, screaming off-topic. So what? What if that poor man was related to that wealthy Italian family who are famous as car manufacturers? That would be slightly interesting to some who have knowledge of the subject. That's all! No need to type swear words, scream, and rage at me. It was a simple observation. Say, "Hmmmnn", and move on to the next comment. That's all.
