You are a jerk ! this accident was in no way caused by the police officer. whomever was driving the other car turned directly into the path of the police officer God bless the deceaseds families and the Milford PD officer.. May he make a quick recovery.

dillweed you have not passed the bar (even the one you think of at Applebee's). Believing what other people say or write is a disqualifier for any healthy skepticism. How do you even know what happened. This officer could have been texting his girlfriend for all we know. We don't know anything until the facts come out. Snap.

Snap....if it is in fact correct that the other vehicle turned into the path of the oncoming vehicle, then you don't need to be a lawyer to understand MV law. Even if he was texting, talking on the phone or on his radio, the vehicle that turned in front of an oncoming car is at fault according to the statutes...dillweed!

This officer has blood on his hands. Pathetic. He was probably trying to get to Dunkin Donuts before they closed. There is your tax dollars at work Orange residents. Do you have any idea how much the town will need to settle with the families. You won't hear about this, but is going to cost you big time.
You also are a JERK ! this accident did NOT involve any members of the orange police dept. so no orange money will be used in any settlement. ALSO, if you read the article, you will see that the MILFORD police officer involved was RETURNING back to milford after assisting a request for help from the WEST HAVEN police, and the the vehicle containing the 2 teens crossed the center line and struck the MILFORD police officer head on. this accident was in no way caused by any negligence of the milford police officer involved...again, prayers to the families of the deceased teens, and a speedy recovery to the milford officer..

you call yourself God, yet it is YOU who is CLUELESS ! the milford officer was driving in an established lane on the boston post road when the car containing the teens swerved over the centerline of the roadway directly into the milford police cruiser..the milford officer did NOTHING wrong here..the car containing the teens struck the milford officer, not the other way around...the teens were at fault..cut & dry case here..

And how do you know what happened? Perhaps he wasn't heading to the DD like you claim.

The writer of this story is causing some confusion with starting the article "ORANGE - Two 19-year-olds were killed in Orange early this morning after their vehicle was struck by a Milford police cruiser." it should read " Two 19-year-olds were killed in Orange early this morning after their vehicle struck a Milford police cruiser" that is what really happened..

Unfortunately, until they learn how to respect a vehicle as a deadly weapon, many more. What the heck are 2 19 year olds doing on the road at 130 am anyways?

I know I'm old but I need to ask - Don't teenagers have curfews any more. Parents - notice these accidents happen in the early morning hours. Learn this phase - Be home by mid-night!!!!! The same goes for adults - if you are not on the streets in the early morning THINGS will not happen to you.

All you folks asking why these MEN were out at 1:30AM are deranged. So a 19 yo over in Afghanistan or Iraq can be fighting insurgents in the middle of the night but you feel that the same age person cannot control themselves in rural CT? That's quite a double standard. And we all know that many cops overdue it when responding to any call. They tear ass as if WWIII is occurring and its all due to the power trip they get by wearing the badge.

The cop may or may not have been speeding, the teens may or may not have been paying attention. The road may have had a blind spot. Until the state police determine the facts all we can do is speculate. Look at what the investigation concluded in the fatal crash between two police officers in New Haven...they were both at fault. To Sgt Joe Frida: as you are obviously not an attorney, no case is at cut and dry as it appears.
