i agree with this 100% there is nothing fantastic down there on the beach or in the city, so some people will be upset some of the beach property is gone, they will get over it and i bet more then not will enjoy it, you dont need to do the entire length, so people can still walk around. the west haven beach is a huge amount of money to keep it up and there is no revenue coming from it. installing two million benches there?? how many do you need? i know there donated, but it cost more then the donation to have the concrete put in, workers installing the bench, time. how about repaving the boardwalk, you cant even ride a bike or in-line skate on it comfortably. build abike and kayak rental store, move savin rock creamery more close to the water. some small quick food restraunts, hot dogs, hamburgers, small meals, make the roof of the buildings accesible with seating and such. some of the grassy areas on one side of the ocean ave parking lot is useless its always filled with rain and ground water the never drains. build a new and better high school for the kids so they can learn more, move all the offices into the old school, sell the city hall property and the blake building, now you only maintain one building, put the public works yard and the parks department there to, sell those properties. stop privitizing garbage the city has 3 or 4 trucks, let them pick up garbage insted of spending 8 hours a day just doing the 55 gallon barrels on the beach and downtown, get a transfer station, so you can make money with people bringing there own waste and bulk so the city workers dont have to spend time and money picking up the trash piles people dump all over the place.

I agree Guts. Let me tell you somethings back in the day Savin Rock was kick ass. It would be great to see the amusement park and all the great places to eat. Thats when Savin Rock was wonderful many many years ago.

We can wish and hope for those days but they aren't coming back. They are all fond memories.

We are in such a hole with this Mayor. Taxes have doubled. Its a great time to buy and a horrible time to sell. I grew up in West Haven. Its very sad to see the changes and and the ungoldly tax hikes.

Residents from generations pasted are leaving or have left. I don't even recognize the people that live in West Haven anymore.

We would have to go further in debt and there is no guarantee's we would get out of this mess with an amusement park.

This mayor is a disgrace. Why do you need a new amusement park. You have Mickey Mouse for a Mayor and the 7 dwarfs on the WH Police force. They will announce at a later day what the names of the other cops were. Word on the street of some of the names are: Sneaky, Hateful, Coward, and etc.

Someone needs to make a stand. Lobby outside the town office. Start petitions. Make yourself heard!!!

You got to put all the blame on Borer he and his adminastion is the blame for all the taxes in this town. Now it's time for this town to do something about it like cutbacks knockout all the overtime and redose there pay .

Answer this question if the firefighters aren't underowrked.How come almost all of them in addition to thier 50 and 60 hour work weeks (OT) have additional jobs ?

It's a TOTAL JOKE that a firefighter walked away last week with over $100,000 in cash and a $85,000 a year pension !! This is West Haven people not NYC, we don't have many structure fires.

The real funny is part is within the last 3 months 2 houses burned down in the Arlington street areain West Shore which is less than 1/8 of a mile from the fire station on Ocean Ave. We need the paramedic truck but fires in the City could all be served out of the Center.
