The biggest turn off for a public store is the dirtyness down the isles and in the bathrooms, some I noticed are belles outlet, dollar tree, Walmart bathrooms, Kmart, dollar stores and most all convenient stores. Do better Coffee County.

They could work all day trying to keep 'em clean, but the majority of the population who visits there could care less about cleanliness. If it doesn't belong to you, trash it. I think that's their motto.

I beg to differ. Most people look at the outlook of a business. If they do not carry the cleanliness well than they won't have my business.

What bothers me are the filthy floors. The bathrooms might be clean, but look at the crud in the grout lines and along the walls and they are disgusting. It shouldn't take much to really clean and sanitize the floors also. My thoughts on public restrooms are they should be kept cleaner than your own.

The businesses would care if the health department came in and shut them down.

Health department can't shut a store down because of the bathrooms not clean. Unless it was a very very serious issue.

If they checked for germs (bacteria) on the floor, every public building would be closed. If you ever looked in the buckets of water they mop with the water is filthy and the keep using it. The only time bathroom floors look clean is right after a renovation.

Indeed. If a business won't come off the man hours to keep their very public restrooms clean, then God knows what else they're skimping on. Chances are their food Prep areas are filthy. Couple that with the fact that Douglas apparently doesn't have real Health Code Inspectors anymore, yeah, its no mystery as to how and or why virus's move through Douglas as fast as they do.

What constitutes a serious issue? If feces and urine are on the floor in a restroom and associates walk in and out, the potential for contaminating food prep areas is HUGE. You are incorrect.

The Health Dept, Fire Chief and USDA/Inspectors can close a business down, at any time.

I wonder if any ( http://www.pphc.ca ) bathroom stores are critiqued for the bad shape that their own bathrooms are in.
