I didn't know Edith or any of her family. From everything I have heard about this precious lady and read on here, not only did she not ask for this, SHE DID NOT DERSRVE THIS. I hope whoever is guilty will be found guilty. Let's continue to pray for this case, those investigating this case, Edith's family, and her many friends. In Jesus' Name we pray.

I am so glad that court isn't being held here today. Too much speculation, hearsay, gossip that appears to be truth, but it isn't. The reality is Edith is no longer with her family and friends. No arguing or bickering will change that fact. Justice will win whether it be here on this earth or in heaven. Edith is with her Savior now. Pray for the family and yes for Larue as well. Pray that the truth will come out and that the family will be comforted. Please stop the gossip, the speculation. If you were not there you don't know. You're hurting the family more. A family who has been apart of the Broxton community for generations. A well respected family in the community.

Has Law enforcement named a suspect or even a person of interest yet? The husband may be responsible but I'm going to wait for more information to be put out by LE before I form an opinion of the man. We all know Coffee County is well know for lies and rumors. I'm not saying people on here have lied...I'm just saying "I don't know" they are telling the truth.

Praying for this whole situation. Does anyone know what time she got off work from the bank that night? I saw on the news report that the 911 call was made about the fire at 6:26 pm. Just trying to figure out the timeline of events. I am puzzled by it all. May God give this family comfort in this terrible time in their lives.

ANY LEA calls the GBI in to assist. That's how it works.
If they don't ASK for the assist, it takes an order from the state AG to make them accept the assistance.

you are right any LE officer calls GBI to come investigate,,but i also know they dont do a crime scene investigation without permission from the deceased family or sheriff,,,so Doyle is doing his part, she is sent to the crime lab,,Doyle said he was going to have a homicide unit get established when he got settled in..so far in my opinion Doyle is doing what he promised us in his campaign, at least the officers didnt go in there and mess up the evidence! our family was never told the GBI had to have a request from family or LE,,so our family suffers the pain of never knowing what really happend

my question would be,,,alot of firemen, rescue workers, and LE combed that house through and through,,and couldnt find her remains,,is it possible after crews left, and media gone, do you think she couldve been placed in there afterwards?? only time will tell, and an autopsy report will clarify alot of un answered questions...rest in peace edith

I pray there will soon be answers but since this is now a homicide investigation the family may not be given many answers right away. It will not be because there is anything negative toward the family but to protect the evidence. The family will most likely find LE to be tight lipped about what they do and what they know which is only normal procedure with a homicide investigation. Your post broke my heart. I wish I had the right words to say something that would give you some kind of peace that there will be answers to your questions. I did not know Edith but she had to have been a wonderful person for so many to speak so well of her. She deserves the best and I believe her getting the best investigation will mean many of the answers you so deserve will take time. Try to think about it this way. For Edith to have the best means her loved ones will have to suffer through the process of getting the rigtht answers so justice will prevail. Prayers for God to give you strength, peace and comfort. I wish I could do more.

God Bless. I understand not having answers down here. I've lived with that many years now. I have faith that is not going to happen to those who love Edith. Keep the faith we will see them again.

the family of the deceased has nothing to do with whether or not an investigation is done and by whom. The Sheriff must request the GBI,they cannot do anything without the Sheriff permission.

The LE and Rescue Services had to wait until it was safe to go into. The remains of a burnt house have to be secured. It was a two story house that produces a great deal of rubble. This rubble had to be cool enough to go through. Their suits are fire resistant, not fire proof. Until they are able to account for those that live in a house that has burned they are assumed missing and searched for. They call places of work, school, cells, family, friends, common shopping stops and restaurants. Their search began immediately when they discovered the vehicle was present to think that she was home. If she lived near others, was exposed to the smoke/fire, she could have escaped, went wondering for help and got lost, hurt, or passed out. That requires a foot search. These are all reasons why it took what some think was an extended period of time to search for her.

I am not her family or friend or even know her or the family. I just know common sense and not to jump to conclusions where a suspicious death has occurred. This may be what is listed as a suspicious death until test results are back, but people leak homicide. All of these are possibilities. This family is struggling not because they lost a home and all in it, but because of so many unanswered questions with callous speculation being thrown about without proof of any of it.

well that is what was told to my family member when contacted the GBI they said the sheriff or the parents couldve requested a crime scene investigation,,this was not told to us until after the burial,so suzie Q we got our facts straight from the GBI..thank you very much..and i didnt say what i did say about edith being found after an extensive search, what brought speculation to my mind is all the unsolved murders around here and especially that woman who was found dead in a cotton field..i just thought someone might have seen something fishy going on..thats all..i did not what so ever point fingers to no one

They told you that because you are not her family reporting the crime....You have no interest in reporting it nor can ask for the case to be investigated.
