I also don't have money but feel that I fit in. As I look around, I "know" that there are many others regardless of socio-economic status, race, or whatever measuring sticks are used to determine worth in the eyes of many that also feel loved and accepted in this fellowship of believers who love the Lord and believe the Bible. God's love never fails and that is what is preached there. Even when we face difficult circumstances, the goodness of God endures and brings hope and comfort. I hope that as I continue to worship and praise with this vibrant church body that we will continue to serve and meet the needs of others in a time when people are desperate for a loving acceptance. We are the hands and feet of God. The harsh reality is that "people throw rocks at things that shine". May God's people continue to shine brightly in a dark world.

Apparently the elders and members of this church gave the pastor far too much control. A church should be open about their spending and every business in the church. You have a right to question any and all of it as a member paying for it from your tithes. The are human and are able to fall. If you choose not to question anything regarding your pastor or other church members, you are are placing more faith in man than God. Pastors are not rulers and are to be questioned. If I have a pastor that is not answering my questions and feels he is above such matters, then it is time to get a new pastor. Churches are now huge businesses. Churches that are owned by the pastor or a few members are not churches for the right purpose. A church is of the members, not a handful of select men.
The pastors are very open about things. All you have to do is ask. This post is disrespectful, distasteful, and completely dishonest. The pastor shares with the whole congregation about money matters. I agree with what someone else stated. If you have a question, ask.

We are often made aware of the ministries that our money helps to support. This is also the very first church I have ever been a part of that doesn't make a big deal about the collection of money. One of the reasons for that is because it is not necessary and the pastors often make references to the fact that our church is such a "giving" body. People who feel loved by God desire to give to others as they are able. Please come and worship with us so that you will not only have first-hand knowledge of some of the points you are making but you will also experience the loving presence of God.

But do they tell you exactly what everyone's salaries are? Where every dime is spent? Not just ministries they support?

Hahahaha....really????well, let me drop this in your mail box sweetie.....God sees u NAKED, not saying u should go out on the town naked, js that God looks in at the heart! AND,Yes, i do believe in dressing modestly in church HOWEVER those little house on the prairie skirts, buns on those heads, nor those long hairy legs/arm pits will get u into heaven any more than my short pixie haircut will!!!!!! As I stated before, the Lord sees the heart---thats why there aint no dress code in Heaven!!
P.S. Fyi, I recently visited a local "Holiness" church and I must say, things must be changing as I only noticed the old mommies looking "hag like" and very drab, to put it lightly...wouldn't smile/speak to me if their life depended on it!Hmmm...thats NOT what kind of Christian I wana be--they looked DEPRESSED and mad at the world!!!The daughters, welll now thats a diff story!!! Wearing those straight TIGHT ultra-fitted skirts with a LONG slit ip the side( some had a slit up the front, yeah!), that hair all curled and fancied up with diamond accessories or flowers, and, GET THIS, MAKE-UP!!!! OH MY!!!!!! Not to mention the "painted on" shirts that were unbuttoned! And, did I mention the "hooker heels" they were wearing--pretty sure Ive seen those at Brenda's!!!! Pretty sure you can see more of their body parts in those clothes than u can see in my jeans/sweat pants!!! And, just go to Belk's, Walmart, DQ on the weekends...you will see those same "holy roller hunnies" in skin tight jeans, LOTS of make-up, and jewelry galore!!! I said all of that, to say this .........You cant tell them bun heads apart from the prostitutes outside of the church!!!*****Has any1else noticed this????? Comments welcome :)
LOL you got that rite. some people need to read the BIBLE. They let some hard core hollnes peacher tell them how to live there life is a pullpit while at the same time he is looking up there dress.

We should all be worried about our salvation through Christ Jesus not judging others. There is not a single person that has wrote on here that is perfect.....just as I also am not perfect. If anyone is doing anything wrong in the sight of the Lord let Him be their Judge. No one has the authority on here or anywhere else to say anyone has done anything wrong..... It is not our place to judge anyone..... There is only One that has the authority to be the Judge and that is God Almighty. We all should be focusing on our relationship with the Lord, our obedience to His Word, living a Spirit led life, and especially we need to be focusing on Loving one another as Jesus loved us (John 13:34). He loved us to the point that He was willing to (and did) give His life for us even though He committed no wrong. He gave His life for what we do wrong or have done wrong. We should all love each other that much, regardless of how much the other has messed up because that is God's kind of Love! I pray that we can realize that we must first focus on attempting to "perfect" ourselves in Christ before we should even begin to think about pointing out others faults.
I look at it like this, if they do misuse it or if they don't it is not my place to judge. I go to Church there and I trust the pastors but even if by some chance they were misusing the "tithes and offerings" I give; it still is not my place to say anything. I give my "tithes and offerings" out of obedience to God's Word. If by some chance it is misused, I have FAITH in MY GOD that He will deal with those who are misusing it accordingly. Again I ask, who are we to judge? Are any of us "perfect"? I think not because if we were all perfect then there would not have been any reason for God to have sent His Son to give His life for us so that we could be forgiven..... Let us all get past this Father God and let us focus on increasing our relationship with you from glory to glory! I forgive everyone on here fo the hurtful diminishing things that have been said and if I have offended anyone I hope they forgive me. In addition, I can truely say that I believe the Pastors at Covenant have already forgiven those who ave gossiped and slandered against them too (if they even know) because that is what kind of people they are.......they have Your Love......they have the God kind of Love for all people!!!! In closing I would like to say, I love you all......regardless of what comments have been said or the comments that will be said.....and I hope in sharing that, that we can all put this to an end and follow your new command to Love one aother as you have loved us Lord!

Obviously you forgot the worship lesson of Cain and Able. One worshiped his own way and the other Gods way. Which was God pleased with? It does matter to God and nowhere does HE even justify or condone instrumental music in 'worship' to HIM. Re-read Gods plan of Salvation.

One of many examples: Psalm 150:1-6

King James Version (KJV)

150 Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.

3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.

4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.

6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

Romans 15:4 - For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

The Lighthouse didn't rip people off. It was a very charismatic church. The Lighthouse and Covenant used to be a church for all people. Covenant used to be a charismatic fellowship, now it's more pep rally and baptist centered.

Well, err u r entitled to your own opinion, but I choose to believe; cause without that hope; life is ah pretty well a moot path of pointless points. Churches are under attack today more than ever as evidenced here; but I dont put my faith nor hope in man but in a much higher power. I have seen more evidence that there is than there aint!

You sure are bright there hayseed. It is sad that your life is pointless with out some magical sky man, that wants to destroy your soul if you dont do exactly as he demands. Keep on "believeing" I dont want to stop you, but please dont pretend to know anything about a life with out being brainwashed by some piece of shit book, and the assholes that wield it against you.
And your church is not under attack, people are getting tired of the sanctimonious propaganda that you all spout off everytime someone says something you disagree with. At best a church is a place where you can see other brainwashed people. At worst its a hell on earth with the elders covering up child abuse and sexual misconduct with kids. Doing drugs and freeking male prostitutes. We have the whole gambit here, I have been to a few and have been put off by everyone of them. Mainly because of the judgmental assholes that hate themselves and hate everyone else and cannot stand for anyone to find happiness off the beaten path. I guess it must be easier to accept the ridiculous ideas you espouse. In closing I wish you a lifetime of "happiness" with your self delusional Life full of Points that "aint" pointless.

listen man you might call yourself a christian, but some christina somewhere is better than you and dont listen to no music. The bible says some crap about music/dance/art being the work of the devil. So just take all your CDs and probably you still have 8 tracks, and throw them in the yard and burn them. Because you aint loving god if you listen to music. This is one of the main reasons I cannot be among you all is because how closed minded most of you are. Man if it "aint" in your book it "aint" real. Or if its in someone else book its straight up satanic. Get real man just because someone listens to music their going to hell? Really man how can you accept any of this crap?
