Does the doctor not even owe you a phone call to follow up on the blood work that was ordered? Oh, and the doctor was also trying to PROFIT on the charges for the blood work!
I think you made a good decision by getting a copy of your blood work for the $2.00.

Your doctor most likely would rather you have another Doctor's Visit and pay another $175 just to tell you what the test found.

Of course it doesn't take a PHD to read the results of the test.

I'm done...I never revealed the doctors name...I just flipped out over the injustice of the situation after I had already paid all required fees for services rendered...I won't post on this anymore...ya'll carry on. Augusta boy, sorry you could not play fair. You are very lucky to have excellant hospitals/doctors in your town.

The other Douglas rip off is this 3 month bull crap. Doctors in a big city give you 6-12 months of regular meds. The A$$e$ in this town give you 3 months. When you have been on the same meds for 25 years with NO CHANGE why can't they write the script for a longer period of time? Just MORE gouging! They hide behind the "I might miss something" CRAP! Now, SQ, before you say anything I know this is more of CYA but it still makes me mad!
WELL YOU AIN'T TALKING ABOUT DR ANDERSON HERE CAUSE I HAVE A FRIEND THAT GOES TO HIM AND HE MAKES YOU GO EVERY MONTH AND HE DOES A DRUG TEST EVERY 3 MONTHS TALKING ABOUT A VISIT THIS IS 150 TO 175 DOLLARS EVERY MONTH YOU HAVE TO PAY IF YOU USE HIM.

I must be lucky then..my doctor is great.. only orders what is needed and keeps tests to a minimum and when labs are done, his office calls with abnormal results and does not require a second visit.... i only hope i dont lose his services as result of the health care changes..

I agree with you. I had the exact same thing happen to me and I seen the PA, but it wasn't at Dr Anderson office, it was at Douglas Medical and that was after they filed my insurance. The specialist that I go don't charge near what the doctors here charge. Needless to say, I haven't been back!!!!

I am so disgusted with a local doctor's office. I was charged $175.00 for an office visit and charged $206.00 for blood work as a routine part of a yearly physical. I was never called or informed as to the results of the test. I went by the doctor's office to pick up a COPY of the blood work and was charged 96 cents per page! Give me a friggin break! The PRINCIPLE of this charge after all parties have been paid a total of $381.00 and I have to pony up an additional 2 bucks for the results? I was so furious so of course I fired the doctor! Has Obama care already started?

I am currently looking for the guidelines of the affordable care act and can find no evidence of any panels in any hospital.. some of this so called evidence is thrown out there to confuse people into thinking that it is true.. No evidence to suggest that 78 or any age is a cut off point for care. The right wants people to believe these lies.. Call your local hospital or representative for the truth,. factcheck.org is a good site for checking the veracity or any politician.

I have had good care at very reasonable fees at Applecare. Lab fees there are also very reasonable. Call them for specifics. Also, you will see a competent MD who knows what he is doing.

No doctors at Applecare. Only P.A or nurse practitioners. You get what you pay for.

Do not put all doctors in the same category. Dr. Lydia Tanner and Dr. Justin Harrell's practice absolutely do not do this.

Dr. Tanner is so very sensitive of her elderly patients. I have a parent who is over 90 with medicare and excellent secondary insurance. Even though Dr. Tanner knows that coverage is there...she is so sensitive to what the patient can endure as far as tests and what good are the tests if the patient could not endure the possible treatment.

Every six months, Dr. Tanner schedules the lab work prior to the appt so that we do not go for an appt ...then get lab work...and back.

Don't put every practice in the gouge category. Kudos to Dr. Tanner and Dr. Harrell!

Took my son to a dr in douglas with a hurt shoulder. The dr did an x-ray in the office and said that he could not see anything on the x-ray, but he was sure it was hairline facture. He spent less then 5 minutes with us. A week later his shoulder felt fine and went back to playing football. I get a bill for over $600 in charges. The dr billed insurance for surgery.

His Office is charging nearly $200 for mandatory urine drug screens that they do on site in less then five minutes. A drug test for CSX doesn't cost that much, and that includes Blood.

Best advice= Find a Doctor that respects his/her patients.

You're a lier. What doctor billed your insurance company for a surgery when all you had was an office visit? That's right, nobody. Go stir the pot somewhere else.

Could not agree with you more! Dr. Tanner and Dr. Harrell are excellent doctors and are not out to get rich, just there to give the best medical care possible. They are both very professional and caring. Their office visits are only $75 whether your self pay or have insurance, no price gouging there!!!
