It sounds like wooten has a ax to grind. Why would this take presidence over other crimes such as a woman being murdered and burned in her home. Drugs are still running rampant in our community but we are arresting people for something that happenned 2 years ago. Oh and putting in on the front page of the paper. Obviously this guy isnt a present threat to the community if he hasnt done anything in 2 years. I wonder who this woman is that was pulled over and if she is a friend or family of Wooten....Hmmmm this just dont make sence to me.

It makes perfect sense. The sheriffs department doesnt handle 1 case at a time. Jesus. Are you reall that much of a Pope defender to say something so asinine? No one should be complaining FOR ANY REASON that this guy got arrested FINALLY for something so stupid and criminal. What you should be angry over is that he has not been arrested in almost 2 years because of who WAS the damn sheriff.

drman could not have given him the badge when he passed away. he was dead. pope gave ted the badge after dorman passed away most likely is the way it went.if the gir was texting then he should have called 911.he had no right to use the light and badge.i dont believe Dorman gave his badge to any one.he worked lots of years for that badge.

Unlike the Pope Administration, the Wooten administration can work on more than one thing at a time.
And your a fool. He hasn't done anything in 2-years so just let him go?? You must be a Pope. Are you worried that Jerry is next?? I would be.

Ummm the story is the girl was texting and driving and almost ran him off the road. Yes he did try to get her to pull over and that was wrong. The badge he had was given to him by Dorman Faulkner when he passed away. No Ted shouldn't have used that as a way to pull her over. He should have called it in.
well well well...lets blame it on Dorman since hes not here to defend himself..r.i.p.Dorman

I don't know how that tradition got started but sheriff's giving out badges have been going on since I was a child and I'm old. Kind of an honorary thing. This guy just failed to have the knowledge to know he didn't have authorization to use the badge. Kinda like the gun thing...its not the gun but the person using it...its not the badge but the fool using it illegally.

And just so you know, she is not any kin to Wooten. Also did you see in that same paper that the Task Force arrested three for making and having METH!! Looks like he's working on the drug problem. Two of them were on probation and one was on Parole. So looks like they will be doing time!! Keep up the good work SHERIFF WOOTEN!!!!!

Doyle New Sheriff in Town !!! "Like Buford Pussar in Walking Tall investigating and incriminating??" I think not "slinging dirt and carrying out grudge work at the taxpayers expense"
"!! Doyle Wooten !!" So far "WALKING SHORT" what a disappointment.

Not family or even a friend of Pope. Just a curious citizen about our community. So what is Wooten working on because thats the only thing I have seen on the news or in the paper. Speaking of the administration....what about all the promises that Wooten made about terminating certain people. Hmmm

This is real life not CSI or some other scripted tv show to be solved in one hour. Give the man time. Also, terminating deputies or other employees, the county has a merit system policy that protects employees from political terminations, but if and when Doyle is able to find due cause then he can terminate with a lawsuit being filed and the person getting a large settlem ent and the job back. Use your head for something rather than to store air.

I understand the policies and procedures. My point is that Wooten make false promises because he was ignorant of the policies and procedures. Typical polititian!

Sounds to me Wooten is cleaning up the loose ends that Pope wouldnt because of being friends with him. I commend him for a job well done. Soon we will hear about the rest of those friends that where covered up by Pope. Go get em Wooten! If this guy had of stopped my wife posing as a cop he would have got his ass handed to him.

Politics is just that. "Politics" It is the process of getting elected. If all citizens took what a candidate promises to heart like some on here do with the past Sheriff's race President Obama would have been run out of the country his second election.

So since Ted Adams committed a felony two years ago you think he should be let go? That's what I gathered from your earlier post. Did you see where 3 METH cookers were arrested? Looks like Wooten is doing a great job. According to Pope's flyer he sent out during the campaign he said he has busted, what was it 9 or 10 meth labs all those years he's been in office.....wow Wooten has been in there a little over a month and has busted 2 already, and busted that guy a few weeks ago with all those X-pills. Good Job Wooten!!! Best Sheriff ever!!!

No I think if he has broken the law and justice has not been served then by all mean arrest him. I just cant see him as a imminant threat to the community. We obviously have a cold blooded killer on the loose that needs to be caught. And to your defense Mr Wooten may be doing all that can be done and I honestly hope so. However time is ticking. As far as the drug bust in the past month, thats pittiful if thats all that has been busted. Obviously you have no idea how much drugs we have in Douglas. I could have busted that many before lunch today!
