why is it everyone feels the need to be so disrespectful to a cashier? we are there to help you and yall just think we are not worth 1. getting off your cell phone for five mins to check out, and pay attention to the cashier.. How are we suppose to know you wanted something left out or bagged seperately. And if you are paying with ebt. it dont cover dog food. and i cant tell you what is on it.. 2. Dont throw you items at us on the register, turn around talk to your friend while holding the money balled up in your hand and practically shoving it in our face bc you are too lazy to turn around for a second and wait until we are done ringing you up. 3. know what you are buying. we cant read your mind! "why is it 3 dollars? oh thats right i did have that" 4. if the cashier is backed up there is a reason, Corporate controls how many ppl can be on the clock, we cant help it if 25 ppl decide to check out at one time! please stop throwin your money down on the counter with our hand out right beside you, like you dont want to put the pennies in our hand

Women please stop carrying your money in your bra, that is disgusting! i hate taking money like that, sometimes i will refuse!
Men please stop carrying money in you socks, that too is nasty.

Stop cutting line. Stop making fun of other customers.

And last but not least.... WATCH YOUR KIDS.. i am so sick of ppl who think it is okay to let their kids come in a store and just let them run ragged. it pisses me off so bad. if they break it they buy it.
how would you like it if i ran around where you work at messing the place up. so you have to keep cleaning up before you can go home?
also, dont come in 5 mins before closing to do your grocery shopping for the week and stay an hour over.
Just saying

I agree with almost everything you said. You are however an exception to what we as your customer see as a cashier all to often.
Many cashiers don't pay attention or are talking to a friend in line or not in line, throw groceries, bread and fruit so they get messed up. I could think of some more but it wouldn't be helpful.
Thanks for being better than average.
It just gets down to customers and cashiers treating each other with the respect/courtsey they would like to have if the roles were reversed.

Well I use to be a cashier. And it is our job,to make sure our customer's feel welcome, and appreciated. But we are not there, baby sitter, and we are not there to be talked and treated like a dog.We have feelings as well. And u are so right about the talking on the phone part, and throwing the money down, instead of putting it in our hand, like we do there's.But the main thing that really got on my nerves was,I spent half the day at the register, and the other half picking up and hanging up clothes.I mean I never understood how people can just come through the store, and leave it looking like a hurricane.I never complained though.I would just go pick them all up and hang them again. And then wait for it to happen over and over again. Please people treat us the way u want to be treated.Yes we are there to serve u.But not to clean up behind your mess u make, just because u want to.Thanks and God bless.Always remember do unto others as u would have done unto you!
Please

I know alot of cashiers who are disrespectful, but all my customers know me by name, i do my best to keep a smile on everyone's face. And i have a touch of ocd so my bagging i can say is almost perfect.. lol i cant help it. i do care about my customers and their purchases.. it just is getting old. to the point where i want to quit sometimes. i have been there for years. one last thing. Why do they ask at the counter "where do i put the basket?" or they just throw it down in the floor in front of the register? they go back by the door where it came from... thats all.. i promise. i just needed to get that out of my system

The customer might not always be right, but the customer is always the customer.

Some people need to work in a factory where their people skills can be utilized. If you aren't friendly and helpful, you might not need to be a cashier.

Don't let the government know you can post on a forum or you might not get as much assistance.

Sadly, you're right. In Coffee County, most have to work two jobs to earn a living wage. Thats to say you can find one. Its the same across most of the South. Making it worse are piece's of sh(* like you who are lost to the fact that people can't get ahead because our Community Leaders keep good paying jobs away out of fear of spoiling their poverty stricken Labor pool.

The Bible Belt, particularly South Georgia, is a case study of Hypocrisy and moral decay.

U are right, the customer is always the customer. But the customer's are not always right. One thing it is not right,to let your children string out every single toy,in the store. Then the customer not buy one single toy. Then they go through the clothes, throwing them off hangers in the floor. Then just leaving them there. Now that to me is just down right RUDE.I would never do such. But yeah we had to always go by,the customer is ALWAYS right.Even though they WASN'T.But like I said I never had a attitude I would just go behind them, cause it was after all my job,to run the register and all.But in all reality I wasn't a maid,or a baby sitter,I wasn't hired for that. But anyway just let it go,and do your job.And other duties,if u wanna keep getting paid.Because this day and time, jobs are few and far between. So just be happy u have one.Even if it gets hard on you, just be the bigger person, and smile and carry on about your day.

What about those kids that pick up the popcorn chicken in the deli and eat it as they shop through the store with no intent to pay? What about those that spray the paint all over the place? I wonder why Target doesn't have problems with like these with their customers???? Manners are of all people regardless of their income, but few seem to possess them.

I will have to say that our local KMart is much, much cleaner than WalMart. I was just in there this weekend and had no problem finding what I needed and not dealing with horrible customers or clerks. I will be doing more of my shopping at KMart for non-grocery items. I would frequent Harvey's more but they just aren't a clean, bright grocery store. Even WalMart is better in that regards. Harvey's needs to either do some serious scrubbing or replace the tired and worn fixtures so you feel like you are in a clean store.

I', saying that people in general have poor to nonexistant manners. Take the cellphone, why must you speak on the phone while paying for groceries? An emergency you say, leave your groceries and go.Why must almost every vehicle have a driver talking on the phone,oh man I didn't mean to run through the stop sign, well get off the phone. I'm sorry I didn't see you, well get off the phone. What in the world could be so all fired inportant that you must be on the phone as you pull out of your driveway going to work.
Knocked clothes off the rack, not my job to pick them up,my child run over someone in WM riding a bike, the ole gal should have gotten out of the way.
The list goes on and on.Yes sir/mam,no sir/mam,does anyone remember that or it is going to be huh, what, whatever or just ignore the people spesking to you. Thank you is forgotten by most people, after all the people work here to take all my rude comments and poor manners and uncontrolled children.
you get my drift? no it is not about wealth.it is about how you conduct yourself,Don't know how you say, what the older generation, most know what manners are!!!!!!!!!!
Before you start,I'm not perfect. Been know to roll my eyes and snort a few times myself.
