The election is over and done with. Is there nothing else of greater importance to discuss in Freehold?

I grew up in this town, but now live in Howell Township. My wife and I own a retired trotter and it is much cheaper to let him roam on our property than to stable him. We also found this 1920's constructed farm house that we loved and bought three years ago. It sits on almost three acres of property. We have a small pond behind our house and a well established tree buffer between us and our closest neighbor. It's so beautiful and quiet out here.

My brother and sister-in-law still live on Lincoln Place in the Borough, so my wife and I are in town quite often. In fact, Mike DiBenedetto still cuts my hair every three weeks. That's how I stay on top of what is happening around town. Mike and I played ball together in town from Little League through men's league. I think he still plays some, while I can barely still walk.

I think the town's biggest problem is its high taxes. I pay alot in Howell, but I have a nice piece of property all around me. The County owns half of the Boro and I also hear rumors that Nestles may be looking to shutter its operations as a cost cutting measure. Has anyone else heard this? Anyway, where can the town cut back to save money without shortchanging the residents too much?

I ask the question to see if anyone has a brain on Topix and is interested in using it.

So now levain is resolved to story telling, making up fictional people who live only in his mind.

Mr Roberts,
I have began to notice more and more crime (beatings, drugs, robbery in the borough as well as
Large quantities of immigrants loitering all over the streets and benches through out the town.
This was once a very nice town.
I am sure I speak for many when I ask you and Mayor Wilson “What your Plan is to get this town “back on track”
and I do not want to hear how we are “short on manpower” or any other excuses.
I cannot believe this once gorgeous town has become a filthy rat hole with women pushing carriages
With multiple “anchor babies” at their side. Men hanging out in the parks , Football fields at the highschool
And right smack in town at the hall of annex and across from Ritas Italian Ice.
(Rita’s finally woke up and chased them off the grounds)
I do not feel SAFE in my own neighborhood anymore. We need to get cracking down on the “Gang Bangers,
Vagrants and loiterers” who are bringing such to the town.
They steal (Ernie’s shopping carts from Foodtown are all over by Union Street and South street)
They intimidate women ( I don’t know anyone who minds stopping using 6&12 for milk or bread )
I cannot even allow my daughter to go down to Liberty Park with her friends because I don’t like the way
The men stare at them when they are walking past my home –
The children who live here as well as the homeowners deserve an answer….
Not code enforcement & Hank Stryker !
Lockwood has homes where there are 8+ people living in them (and they are not the typical mom dad & family.
6 adults 2 children ?
Start by getting all the street corner loitering and hanging out in the parks after hours resolved
(I’m sure you’ve driven down South Street , or seen the Hall of Annex after 5pm?
Cruise Center Street- They hang out right in the roads –
MAKE THIS TOWN SAFE ONCE AGAIN WHERE WE COULD WALK DOWNTOWN AND WANT TO BE THERE!
this is still a very nice town, in spite of mayor wilson and the majority of the town council.. i have lived here over 35 years and i don't want to live anywhere else, even though i have to resources to live practically any where in the us or europe.. this town would do a lot better without hateful and bigoted people such as yourself who doesn't have the courage to identify yourself like i do.. please do not hate people that are a little different, speak with an accent, whose skin is not the same as yours.. try to act more like someone that has real values.........

I was interested in seeing whether or not anyone wanted to talk about the taxes in the town and see that I am being accused of being someone I am not. The person accusing me does not even give a name, while I use mine. If he would devote his brain to questions like mine instead of playing What's My Line we might all gain something from being here.

Daily Horoscope for December 25

Virgo

So much love and effort. You want the day to be a big success, and it's going to be that way. You'll be very popular if you can bring some spontaneity to the day, such as springing an exciting surprise on everyone or swapping a tired old tradition for something much more interesting. You might also have an unexpected visitor at some point.
