Does anyone know how much those new windows at the high school are costing us?

The new windows are replacing windows that are not more than 10 years old. How many people can afford to put new windows min their house every 10 years. Whay are they putting new windows in if thay are going to tear down the high school

Even if they do build a new high school, who said anything about tearing the building down?? Also, if you received money, totally free, to make repairs to your house, would you take the money? Even if you planned to sell it in 5 years?? I know I would!!

I like the new windows, they give the old school a totally new appearance. In the long run the new energy efficient windows may save money on heating bills. If a new school is to be built, it will be several years down the road, so the windows are a good improvement.

The way I read it, the grant money comes from the Illinois State Board of Education.

Of course I see where you are going with this. The money comes from tax payers and the taxes they have paid. But MY POINT IS: Hypothetically speaking, IF the governor of Illinois knocked on your door, you opened it, and he said to you, "We notice that your house is in need of some repairs. Here is a check for $10K to use as you see fit." Are you gonna say, "No thanks Mr. Gov. That is tax money and I really don't think I should get that money, even though my house DOES need some repairs." ORRRRR, will you take the check, aka grant, and get your house fixed up? I have yet to hear of a story where someone turned down grant money from any government. Maybe FCHS should have turned down the money and let the IL Govt. give it to Benton, or JC or Marion, or anywhere else but here????

I've worked there 12 years now, and those windows were there when I began working there.
