What a terrific store they have an adorable little dog that greats you andgets a treat and then disappears with it. The store is beautiful and the arrangement I picked up was stunning. There was homemade chocolate and in fabulous shapes. I had the owner do my Embassy Club company party at Christmas and it was exactly what I wanted. Great job!

My bridal shower flowers were the most gorgeous orchids I have ever seen and the attention to detail especially in our color scheme and theme was really great. Thank you so much for the friendly service and the flexibility shown.

I received a delightful Thanksgiving centerpiece from The Wild Orchid this year. Doesn't appear to be out of business to me. It was unique and a real eye catcher. Thanks for a great conversation piece.

It is sad that you use the internet in this way. Relocation does not mean that the business is a farce. I received a beautiful Thanksgiving arrangement from The Wild Orchid and you are simply wrong or hateful or possibly both.

Used you again this Thanksgiving and the real pumpkin design was absolutely adorable and very unique! Great job, we will call for Christmas this year too since it is at my home.

As a surprise thank-you gift, a relative ordered an advertised arrangement on a Wednesday with a Thursday delivery and I waited at home for the delivery....didn't arrive. Thursday, I left my side door unlocked (scary huh?) with delivery instructions. Still no delivery, but a very strange message on my phone, therefore eliminating the surprise, but no indications of when or if the delievery would be happening. The relative tried Thursday to reach the business before closing hours, but only got a machine. Called Friday and got several excuses about several things....their phones (can't get reception in the greenhouse), their supplier (HyVee was out of strawberries, then the strawberries turned dark when dipping), they wouldn't do the arrangement with just the floral items for some long drawn out reason which to me means they were short items other than the chocolate strawberries, and then the clincher, they couldn't process an immediate refund because the banks were already closed. I realize things can go wrong, but the relative (who works for a university and does event planning for them) said that she feels she was being lied to or at the very least, getting the run around. Very poor!

I got notified of your review and wanted to respond to you. First, let me assure you that we were only interested in delivering quality product to you and until we were able to do that the order was delayed. I understood this delivery to be a thank you and not time sensitive which would have allowed us to go forward and not cancel. I don't understand how we were eliminating the surprise when you were leaving your door open but we never recommend that people do that in any event, we are certainly always willing to accommodate your schedule. Valentines Day Week is very hectic so I apologize for being very busy but as you indicate we did communicate with both you and Peggy about the order. As for an immediate refund, we processed the refund immediately but the credit card company takes 2 ro 4 business days to complete the process it has nothing to do with the bank being open or closed and we have no control over the credit card companies procedures we can only issue a refund on our end and we did that immediately when it was apparent we were not going to be able to take care of the order as was desired. There is absolutely no reason for us to give anyone the run around we deliver flowers and goods daily and once in a while we run into a problem which we try very hard to communicate to the sender and the recipient as we did in this case and getting it right is always our goal and the only thing we wanted to do for you. fredsfriend wrote: As a surprise thank-you gift, a relative ordered an advertised arrangement on a Wednesday with a Thursday delivery and I waited at home for the delivery....didn't arrive. Hey Just want you to know we ordered chocolate covered strawberries from here too and had a delay and it was cool we ended up getting double the order, so 2 dozen, because they were late and whatever trouble they had I am sure the folks here don't do this kind of thing on purpose. They kept in touch and did their best - I always get excellent service and great product and by the way I work for a credit card company here in des moines and I can tell you for sure that the refund has nothing to do with the store or a bank it has everything to do with the credit card company even if it is a debit card and it DOES take 2 to 4 business days which do not include the weekends. So you aren't getting the run around it is the process and it is not instantaneous.

I ordered a gift basket (Over $100). Specifics of what to put in the gift basket was given to the person taking the order. I ended the conversations by stating if there were any problems with items to call me. The person receiving the basket sent me a photo and thanked me for the "fruit basket." If I wanted a "fruit basket" ~ I would have ordered one from Hy-Vee. I was wanting something special for a special person. I ordered 2 bottles of wine, glasses, chocolate, lotion, candle, etc. The photo of the gift basket didn't show candle, lotion, powder, or two bottles of wine so I called the business. The business stated couldn't find a specific wine so they substituted with fruit/crackers/cheese. I'm not sure fruit substitution=the price of wine. I would have preferred they called me before substituting with fruit. They also stated their driver didn't deliver the lotion, candle, powder, etc. I asked when they would deliver the items that weren't included with the gift basket (& paid for)- the person thought maybe today - but probably tomorrow. She immediately stated if I were getting at asking for a refund that they don't make money off gift baskets and she wouldn't refund. I didn't ask for a refund. I stated that I was disappointed. Disappointed that I wasn't called regarding the substitution. Disappointed at the person on the phone because they never apologized. I can understand if they don't make money off gift baskets if they need to make more than one delivery due to mistakes. I would have been happy if they stated they would correct the order by making sure the items left off the order would be deliver ASAP. It would have been nice to have even put in an extra item just as a way to better reflect their business. Customer service is: know how to apologize, give more than expected, be a good listener, identify & anticipate needs, deal with complaints, be helpful/courteous, take the extra step, throw in something else if there was a mistake ~ even if there's no immediate profit in it. If any of those efforts were put forth, I would say that I would use this service again. HOWEVER, I will not order from Wild Orchid nor will I recommend their business.
