jansydmom- WC wrote: <quoted text>Now, now, children behave yourselves. The "koolaid" comment is totally racial and has no place here, I thought we lived in a very diverse community. Wiki Answers: This is an expression related to the Jonestown mass suicide. They put deadly poison in the Kool-Aid that the followers then drank killing hundreds. Drink the Kool-Aid means to go along with the program or to allow yourself to be manipulated. Just for your information. It's not racial!! And calling people children sounds like something Sykes would say and you put people down for just breathing. So go on with your divers-ness please.

You have been fed a bunch of lies by Sykes and drank his koolaid. Richard Melendez was a south side council member. Did he do all kinds of good things for us too? I live in the South area and live in a nice neighborhood and have a very nice home. My property backs up to the paseos and it's peacefull here. Maybe your house is a piece of *****. You should paint it or clean up your weeds. Well, never mind, you should just leave WC so we can finally stop hearing how bad you have it. Do you need help packing? Just assume my house is a piece of shit with weeds and a bad paint job. The only thing i can applaud the current council on is always voting down a wal-mart.

This clown has been a major source of disruption ever since he was elected!...No we don't need another clown in Sacramento, we more than enough now! Send him off to work as a "College Professor" I would think having a government that doesn't work is more indicative of the incompetence and lack of oversight of the 4-1 majority.

And you have named yourself appropriately. Incompetence of the majority? And you can show proof that things are not done according to your rule? Seems to me that the voters spoke loud and clear and strongly dissagreed with your thoughts anyway.

If I read this right, and it took me a while to understand it, you are saying that the residents are incompetent by not providing oversight to the 4-1 City Council. Are you a resident of West Covina and therefore just called yourself one of those incompetent people, or an outsider with a worthless point of view? Who and what defines a government that doesn't work is a point of view based on personal likes and dislikes. I for one beleive that the West Covina City Council, except for Hernandez, have done an excellent job in making our City a better place to live, work, shop and play. The streets are swept, trash is picked up, they address the ugliness of a landfill and provided recreation and shopping to the southern area of the City. Revenue is generated to pay for police and fire protection. Our City is safe and oh my gosh, they provide affordable senior housing (that must be a crime in a City that doesn't have grandparents or aging parents).

I've been approached and have been told many things that are simply not true. Although they may have sounded reasonable to you, they are not. They in fact sent out the hit piece against the City Council. Don't beleive me, check out the mailing number. They are the same. That's dirty politics and many people saw it. Whoever their leader is, he is telling everyone else what to believe and do. Unfortunately, the followers are following blindly, and that in my opinion makes the cult reference not that far off. By the way, I was one of the people that the Sykes came too and got mad at for not wanting to put up his sign. Scary bunch. But that's my opinion and I think everyone elses agrees as he didnt get elected (thank god).
