Incumbents lead, but race remains close for West Covina Unified...

After early returns, incumbents had a narrow lead in the race for two seats on the West Covina Unified School Board.

Jimenez has done nothing but play the race card and bad mouth parents who live in apartments. Then tries to cover up all the trash talking she has done in one of her drunken states. She has no leg on her own and is a pawn of Mike Spence and Steve Cox. We see just how they interact with people.

I feel bad for the students, teachers, and other staff within the WCUSD. With Jimenez on the board now everything that was accomplished over the past 4 years soon will be down the drain. Jimenez is a true "puppet" for Cox and Spence and will vote everyway they do just to spite Camie and Jessica. How could people vote for someone who is so against unions when as a board member you work closely with the teachers union of west covina. The schools within this district will start wondering which programs, after school activities, supplies, and other items will be taken away from them now that our district has 2 parents of Edison students on the board. The money that Edison pays the district will soon be taken away since Spence himself has stated if he ever got the majority back he will throw out the Edison contact. If that happens you will see that our district is in severe danger due to the fact that the general funds will have to cover about half a million the district will lose if Edison contact is removed. I hope the voters realize just what they did by putting another mouth piece "puppet" on the board for Cox and Spence.

I'm sure glad someone else can see how bad the school district is going to be. If all you voter actually cared about the 13,000 kids in W.C. school and what Mr Spence an 18 year board member who openly says "W.C. schools are garbage and he would never send his kids to them" (proof they go to Edison)says a whole lot to me!!

PLEASE GET IT STRAIGHT! The only puppet here is Shewmaker, she is her father's puppet, why else would he be sitting at each and every school board meeting? why else does she turn to look at him for each and every decision that needs to be made? It's like they have their own sign language, kinda like baseball, she turns to him on what to do, he gives her the sign and then she does it! CHECK IT OUT, I would dare anyone go to a mtg and tell anyone otherwise!
And leave that Edison school alone, jealousy does not become any of you! We are the district we are because of that school, instead of always trying to bring that school down, why not turn to them to see what it is they are doing RIGHT, and then get them to help out our other schools! FOR GOD'S SAKE IS THAT SO DIFFICULT FOR ANY OF YOU TO UNDERSTAND???? I also think it may be time for a new Superintendent, did not like the treatment and disrespect I saw towards any of the board members and even some of the audience members at the last few meetings I have attended. It is sad when you have to explain and try to excuse that kind of behavior to your children. I think the first lesson everyone needs is a lesson on common courtesy and RESPECT! UM, last time I checked wasn't Edison a part of this district? You see that is what the problem is, the BOARD, the community, the other schools AND the Superintendent need to acknowledge Edison ALL OF THE TIME not only when it is convenient for them!

If you knew anything about the Shewmaker's, you would know Mr. Shewmaker lived in northern California for 3 out of 4 years of Ms Shewmaker's first term. He just recently moved back, so he must have had a very long arm to controll his puppet. If all the schools in West Covina could cherry pick their students like Edison does, you would be right all schools in West Covina would be top performing, but public schools have to accept everyone and educate them.

Edison Edison Edison...Edison is not the only topic in west covina is it? With API scores in the 900's and just having been named A National Blue Ribbon School and taken to Washington DC to be recognized you think the government is in on the whole Edison Conspiracy? Maybe they are mutating brainiac children and sending them to Edison? Maybe the kids at Edison are robots from the government or genetically engineered in a huge experiment....NOT ...Edison kids are kids whose parents have chosen to look for the best school out there have spent time and effort thinking about what is best for their children. They are vested in their childrens future therefore they do more than the normal parents. They are willing to donate time and money to their kids futures. They are willing to be on a waiting list. We all want to give our children the best. I was at the lottery for Edison last year my niece did not get in but I watched as the children's names were called how people jumped up and down while others cried. My brother is on the waiting list and hopes to get her in soon. So please people move on look at other issues in the community. Edison is doing it right follow their lead. Mr Shewmaker move on find God in your heart come to the meetings and be respectful of others do not laugh and snicker why do you feel that you have the right to be rude? Your wife and the other people in your party also must be called out on their behavior. We all watch in silence but we all see how your insecurity and your lack of manners is shown everytime you are in a public forum setting. So I hope you will read this and look within yourself for some decorum the next time we watch you at a board meeting. If not we will all talk and laugh about you and your family the next day and point out how little you must think of your daughter because you have to be so rude to her colleages in order to draw attention away from her. It is hilarious how you all pick on Mr. Shewmaker for attending his daughters board meetings, but if you have kids do you attend functions of theirs such as sport events, school events, birthday parties, etc.? Its called support and a proud parent of what his daughter has become. It is clear that others do not have the family support that the Shewmakers' seem to have that is why you are all bitching and fighting about them. And, West Covina Parent I think it is you who needs to find God within your heart since you feel it is proper to come on here and talk crap about a gentlemen who you do not know personally (seeing him at a meeting doesn't mean you know him). I think you West Covina Parent need to take a lesson on respect, manners, dignity, and insecurities as well.
