How do they plan to get enough water to support any type of manufacturing and what will they do with their waste water, dump it into the already shallow water table for the neighbors to drink? This is a piss poor decision by uneducated leaders. What do you expect from Union county?
aok thank

Why this area? It seems to me that where NSK sits is a better place for an INDUSTRIAL PARK. Water and sewage are already there. Are there even any INDUSTRIES wanting to locate here?

Yes, there are two companies that are interested in the Industrial Park. One makes carbon paper, the other makes asbestos.

Ball State Urban and Rural Planning did a free development plan for the future of Union County a few years back (somehow the maps & books disappeared in the move from mini mall to Heath Dept. Bldg.- saw them with my own eyes). The Area Plan Director, Jen Sharp, was fired, the office was reduced to part-time, and Peg Vannoy was put in there. I personally asked Vannoy after the move to see the map, and she basically claimed ignorance of its existence. The plan had suggested that the industrial park be expanded on 44, North of the old Heinhold's to Old Brownsville Road, but instead they rezoned the land from ag to residential so Mr. Carmack could place a housing development there. The reason Ball State had suggested that location was due to having the railroad north of Old Brownsville Rd., the readily available supply of water, and close proximity to the sewage treatment plant being updated and expanded in Liberty. It was placed on Stone Rd. because of "special interest", Eastern Indiana Railroad, and Economic Development Director Stelle claimed at the time to have a tenant in need of the entire park, however, would not release the name of the company. I question the existence of that company, unless maybe it was the Industrial Agriculture Facility now proposed on US27 North. The whole situation stinks to high hell!! If I'm wrong let's have an open debate - it's time to bring light to many situations in this county, which is the best antiseptic.

Is it possible to get a copy of this from Ball State? I do not think many people know of it's exsistance. I for one apperciate all your family does for our county. Hope to see you guys in the next election. You have been proven to be right with the Highway Dept.

I guess now we know why this was started again. The Harts are wanting to run the County. I think U C Resident is family or friend.

Nothing has been proven and more than likley he is wrong. Right or wrong, Tom Hart is still a Jackass! I wouldn't be surprised if uc resident is Tom "jackass Hart himself. Who else would have brought this lame old subject back up. It's been a yr and a half, If you havent figured out where Ball State is by now, Tom, it's in Muncie. Go get a copy yourself.

I do not think we have to worry, the County is to smart to put a Hart in office. That is what is wrong with him. He is a want to be. Do you think this was started to hurt Vannoy? If so he is sicker than I thought.
