Sorry but this dude shouldn't have been riding at night. It difficult enough to make your way around these people in the day light let alone the dark.

Because of the skyrocketing price of gasoline, there are more pedestrians and bicyclists on the roads. When I'm driving, I try to concentrate on driving and being aware of the traffic conditions.

I'm sorry to hear about this fatality. The driver of the vehicle did stop and I hope the driver is okay after this incident.

So I guess people should not walk at night either, or sit on their steps at night, or go jogging at night...for what reason becaseu people like you think they own the road

Gina P, sorry we all can't afford cars and that we make it difficult for your to drive, some people work at night at the many restaurants and stores around here. It's people like you that make riding a bike dangerous. If you would open your good eye and remove the cell phone from your ear we'd appreciate it.

Bicyclists have as much right to be on the road as any other vehichle...unfortunately most automobile drivers do not know how to react to bicyclists on the road, nor do they respect the rights of cyclists especially when we attempt to make a left hand turn...

Thats pretty ignorant, what if this was one of your family members? Some people depend on their bikes to get from a to b. Get your head out of your fat ass!

Sorry, but bycyles DO NOT have the same road rights as cars and trucks.
The major roads were meant and built for motorized vehicles, idiot !! Your bike weighs thousands of pounds less than a car so YOU should have respect. You aren't driving, you're riding and you have many, many safe places to ride without attempting to be part of rush hour traffic. Sorry the guy lost his life but remember, bicycles are not motorized vehicles and it takes much less skill to ride a bike than drive a car/truck!!

Did he have the lights on his bike as REQUIRED BY LAW? It's illegal to ride at night without LIGHTS on your bike. IF he didn't have them, it's partially his own fault. Terrible shame either way...

We don't know all the circumstances. I do feel bad for the guy. We can't generalize, but, I have to say that a lot of bikers tend to think they own the road, weaving in and out of traffic simply because they can. I ride bikes too, but I stick to the bike trails, not the major roads.

he was my friend. He was on hard times. and he Paul was a good guy. people with all of these sit on your bottom and judge every one else types with their opinions should look to their own families and think how they woulod feel if this happened to their loved one, and if you have half a brain, then be quiet. Because this is awful for the driver to have messed up this badly.

Regardless of the inconvenience to the people driving, you are by LAW supposed to give deference, especially for those not as fortunate.

You need to check your facts before sounding so stupid. You apparently have no idea.
Kids in school even know that the government was making roads before cars existed. So the cylist had rights to the road before the cars...duh!

In the beginning of roadway construction in this country, roadways were primarily built for access by military VEHICLES. Get YOUR facts straight, Moron.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Gemini

Mercury will backtrack through your finances over the next few weeks, which isn't a very seasonal thought if you're already well aware that you've overspent this month. Be prepared to do some juggling or to seek expert advice if you're worried about how you're going to cope. You may be kept busy handling inheritance, tax or insurance matters, preparing investment analysis, and allocating funds for the repayment or collection of debts.
