I'd love to know where the glowing reviews are coming from because it can't be the same Bull Durham's that I went to. Horrible meal. I couldn't eat the brisket because it was nothing but a pile of fat. The side dishes were cold. My dinner partner's ribs were burned. It was a disaster from start to finish. They couldn't even serve the beer cold.

Save your money and Stay away from this place.

Don't listen to most of these hacks. Bull Durham's has real BBQ. The beef ribs look like they are "charred" because they are cooked on a SMOKER. All of these idiots that are knocking this restaurant are clueless most would say the best ribs they have ever had were at Outback. Look if you dont like beef ribs get pork LOL.

I had an awesome time and the food was really good. We had the pork ribs and they were as good if not better than those we had in Austin's best BBQ restaurant a month ago. If you want real good REAL BBQ food I highly recommend giving this place a shot. Get the pork ribs and I swear you will be in love.

Have an open mind before going here. This is not chain restaurant food this is real slow cooked smoked meat. Simply amazing!!!

We had another great meal on the 16th. We both had the brisket which was outstanding. We also met a lot of nice patrons that night and look forward to returning again soon for another wonderful experience. Keep up the great work!!!

This place stinks. The food is beyond awful. My meal was literally inedible, as was my dinner partner's meal. It verged from dry, half-burned, and completely tasteless to cold, greasy and, literally, nauseating.

I think the most interesting thing about this restaurant is how difficult it is to post a negative review, or discuss the restaurant, particularly on Chowhound.com , which wipes out any mention of a poor meal at Bull Durham's. There also seems to be a contingent of shills and quite possibly the restaurant's management haunting the food review sites and bulletin boards and cheerleading the food and the service in the face of what are clearly problems at this restaurant. More than a few of the postings made in support of Bull Durham's by its 'fans' are attacks on the reviewers who said they didn't get a good meal or good service. Take a look over on westchesterdish.com .

The way to get good reviews? Serve a good meal and provide good service. It's really that simple.

We recently dined at Bull Durhams and found our experience to be quite opposite the majority of postings on this blog.
We were greeted by a friendly young lady and immediately escorted to our seats. It was a small two seater booth, which was fine at first, but by the time plates started to arrive I wished we had been at a bigger table to accommodate everything, but we managed.
Our server, Justin ??, was very attentive and professional.
As far as our meals, I had the porterhouse and my wife had the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs. My steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned nicely. My wife's ribs were very tastey. I have never had mesquite smpked ribs before, I tried one and found it to be very tasty, especially with their bbq sauce. My only complaint was the green bean casserole. Not like I expected. However, when our server checked back on us and I told him I didn't care for them, he quickly offered to get me another side. So I went for the cornbread stuffing. Much better. We only had one complaint about the menu, there should be more greens or lighter fare on the side dishes. Everything except the asparagus is fried or cheesy or just plain heavy.
We are looking forward to going again, we want to try the two-step lessons one of these days soon. Maybe eat and then do a little dancing to work off the extra calories.
Good luck Bull Durham's!

My husband and I ate there Wednesday night and he ended up in the hospital on Thursday night with a horrible allergic reaction to something, hives over his entire body. The only thing out the ordinary was eating at Bull Durham. He had to have benedral and epinephrine in an IV drip. The hopsital staff agreed that what he ate there could have been the cuprit since it was the only change in his eating. FAIR WARNING TO ALL!!!
An allergic reaction has nothing to do with the restaurnt. If he had an allergic reaction that you knew about you should have told your server. If you did not know about an allertic reaction, and he ate something that his body rejected, that again is not the restaurnts fault. How are they suppose to know a complete strangers symptoms to certain foods when you yourself may not even know? I agree the food isnt that great...but I don't think you should bash a family owned restaurnt because of your lack of going to the doctors and recieving check ups to find out these kind of things. Just my opinion.

Ate here tonight and now typing this at 3 am with the worst heartburn I have ever had. The wife is up as well and in the can.... Thanks salmon. We had salmon and a ribeye steak. Thin cut low quality beef cooked with a lot of butter. Asparagus grilled and buttered beyond recognition. The cornbread was dry and bordering stale. The service was good and the staff friendly. If your up for throwing fifty bucks out the window instead of having a bad meal and a stale keg beer go for it at least you will not suffer through the after effects of BD food. I will not be back.

A good and successful place needs consistent, fresh, top quality food. They are struggling at best. Trying to be all things instead of a few consistent great things gets you bankrupt fast. I give it 6 more months until burn in if they keep whoever is cooking and ordering food employed. Place reminded me of the ole Lonestar steakhouse that turned into pulsations.... Now an old age home... Lol.

Dude, I feel your pain. Literally. I got sick from the meal I had at Bull Durham's. And that was back when they first opened. Clearly things haven't improved.

Maybe we got lucky when we went, because I'm surprised at the negative reviews after our experience here.
My wife and I went here for the first time just a few weeks back and both had the brisket sandwich with coleslaw and fries. They also gave us a basket of home made chips with BBQ sauce.
My wife has gotten homemade chips at other places and has stopped getting them anywhere because they are usually very greasy and don't agree with her. However, we ate Bull's and she enjoyed them a lot and they were not overly greasy like most places.
The brisket sandwich was awesome and had a great smokey mesquite taste and very little fat. The coleslaw was up there with some of the best I've had.
My wife also has Ulcerative Colitis which makes eating anywhere an unknown as to how her system is going to react to the food. She had no problems after eating here.
We both really enjoyed it a lot. I don't know, but maybe it depends on what you order or something.

This place has potential but is very inconsistent. I've been there several times now. the staff is very friendly, although at times all over the place. Sometimes they greet you with home made chips... sometimes they dont. Sometimes the ribs are cooked well... sometimes they are cold. The ribs are a bit dry, the soups are great , the cornbread is dry and the quality differs greatly from one day to the next. Dont get the wrong idea, this is not a negative review. I think this place has GREAT potential if they can get their act together, which is why I keep giving them another chance. As I said, they seem like very nice people and the food at times is rather good. Time will tell. Within 6 months they will either get their act together or they will fall right on their face. I hope they do well.

Had a horrible meal would never go back, just because your from Texas does not automaticaly mean you can cook good BBQ. All three of us had lousy meals, the food was cold by the time it was brought to the table, and the cornbread fell apart like it was made of sand when you tried to pick it up. This place is a joke. We made the mistake of buying a coupon from one of those groupon type websites so we did not pay full price but for what we did pay we did not get our moneys worth. Never will be back

Please don't listen to this hack- they were out of ribs and brisket when I went and the service is horrible. Forced to order a steak and it could have been the worst steak I ever had to pay for. Had to get my own silverware from the bar- apps were cold and took 50 mins to get my food- don't eat here!
