I am so sorry for this boy's family's loss, and for that of his passenger. I hope they won't mind, but in memory of their son, I think I am going to keep the article and picture to save for my son who starts driving next year and tell him if he wants to drive he needs to keep the article and picture in the car with him always as a reminder of how easily this can happen to young and inexperienced drivers. God bless.

You have a major responsibility as a parent to not have your young teenage children driving around this late at night. Don't put this all off on your son !!
Unbelievable

Do not judge that which you do not know. These two may have been coming home from a job or visiting a friend. As a parent I know that I am responsible for my children especially when they get behind the wheel of a car - but knowing that I have taught them the best I could I let them go and learn to live their lives. Why are you so quick to blame the parents?

Wow that's the best you can do ? 11pm for a 16 year old driving around is wrong any time of year. Sorry that you are one of those lazy parents also who let their children just run wild. And it's not the middle of summer. Summer is only 4 days old ya moron.

Nice post. You are one of the rare few parents who actually take responsibility for thier CHILDREN. Had the parents of this one been a little more responsible thier child and another victim would not be dead.

So tragic!!! Parents: Forbid your teenagers to drive until they are at least (18) 16 is WAY TOO YOUNG TO BE DRIVING ESPECIALLY A SUV

OUCH! I am not putting ANYTHING on my son! I am an excellent parent and my son is a great kid. Regardless, all kids need a reminder from time to time of how fragile life is and how quickly the worst can happen.

Quit your judging and say something nice to the family for their loss.

11:00 is too late for a teenager to be out driving? That's ridiculous. And for kids in school, since its been out for a couple weeks, its the middle of the summer. Don't be so litteral - but then again, calling somebody "ya moron" just goes to show what a wise poster you are.

WOW!!! You are blessed with hindsight & smarts. Better yet, High Schools should make it mandatory to go to a Morgue & see victims at their age for their final grade in Jr. & Sr. yr I guarantee they won't be in a rush to drive so early

Don't be so quick to judge!! Unfortunately my children knew these boys. As a parent of 3 teenagers we can not be there every minute of the day ( I wish I could). My heart aches for these boys...I can not imagine the pain of their parents. No matter how much we try to tell our kids to make the right choices, accidents happen! I have to tell you this has had a huge impact of this group of children... to see my kids faces this morning...I feel sad for the horrible lesson they have learn.
That could have been my son in the passenger seat...so don't always blame the parents!
God Bless Mike and Casey! And my deepest Heart fely prayers for the family.

16 year olds are on permits and not supposed to be driving that time of night to begin with ya moron. No wonder these kids are turning up dead, THEY HAVE IGNORANT PARENTS WHO ALLOW THEM TO BREAK THE LAWS !

OMG G2G BOUT 2 CRASH

Please...raise the age limit required for people to get driver's licenses, so that they're old enough to know the extreme responsibility needed to operate a motor vehicle. With age comes the wisdom of responsibility.
