before there's any ripping and tearing; the process to remove a railroad, decommission so to speak, is very involved; and disturbing an existing railroad w/o approval is a federal offense. unless it's intended to leave the rails and ties in place, a trail may be a moot point.

I thought it stated they want to run the scenic railroad from Croghan, which means replacing rails already removed. I would love a scenic ride on the railroad, but Are they going to have set hours that ATV's and Snowmobiles can't be on the trail so the train can run. I can see it already , ATV hits train head on crossing tressel. Can't we find other recreation in Lewis County to spend our lots of taxes on. I'd rather see them invest in industry to keep more people gainfully employed and making enough to keep them here. Otherwise, they are moving away with no new jobs created. Also now we should be saving money since the county decided mental health was not a money maker and they are going private. Maybe some training needs to happen here in Lewis County for public office.

We already have a Walking trail!! Plenty of sidewalks to walk on throughout the Village. How many people do you see walking on them? Not very many. Don't waste the Tax payers $ on something so stupid. They should be spending their time bringing in new Manufacturing Companies so our Unemployment rate won't be 9%. Sometimes I feel Smarter than a Legislator!!
Feeling smarter than a legislator is nothing I would brag about. They are on the bottom of the ladder of the brain genes. With an exception or two.
