TRENTON — The suspect in an armed robbery case in Trenton on Sunday may be connected to a homicide in Tennessee, police said.

Travis Hyso, 27, whose last known address is in Monterey, Tenn., has been identified by police as the alleged driver of the red mid-1990s Ford Ranger pickup truck that led local authorities in Middletown, Franklin and West Carrollton on a high-speed chase Sunday morning after robbing the Metro Express store on East State Street.

Hyso allegedly walked out of the Trenton store without paying for several items and then pulled a gun on the store employee when he attempted to stop him, police said.

He allegedly was able to avoid several sets of stop sticks in Franklin and eventually got away when the pursuit was terminated, police said.

On Tuesday, Tennessee authorities went to the residence listed on the registration of the vehicle Hyso was driving, and discovered the pickup in the driveway. Upon entering the residence, authorities found an older man deceased who may have been there for several days, according to a release sent by the Trenton Police Department.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is probing what appears to be a homicide, the release said.

“He may have some ties to Ohio,” Trenton police chief Tim Traud said of Hyso, who remains at large.
