Bennington Bypass ahead of schedule

With only one contract to be put out to bid, the northern leg of the Bennington Bypass is moving toward completion on time and under its projected cost, according to the Vermont Agency of Transportation's bypass project manager James Harris.

When they're done with this project, the state should build 279 to I-91 near Brattleboro.

maybe if they built a tunnel through Woodford they wouldn't have all those tractor trailer rollovers. A rotary on Main at Rt. 7/9 intersection would probably help get people through Bennington faster too. God forbid if they actually stop and spend a buck.

SORRY but you are a day late and a dollar short. The first plans for this was it was to be part of Interstate 88 From New York to Portland Me. To be finished by early 70's. So much for goverment planning and well run project.

so when they finish the southern connector the local kids can just drive all the way around town like a racetrack. That will keep them out of trouble downtown.

I-88 is the Senator Warren G Anderson boondoggle. Shouldn't be an interstate if it is only intrastate (as in NY only). Some other politician in Illinois got the same idea and now there are two I-88s and neither are interstates. Hmm yet they qualify for federal interstate dollars...somebody's pulling the wool over taxpayers.
