the of 2008 was caused by hogs and corn, this was a man made problem. Too much north central Iowa and south central Minnesota land is farmed by corporations without regards to wetlands and crop land run off. Please report this problem! Flatland farmers, tiled wetlands, green ways removed for every inch of corn ground, fertilized by massive hog confinement operations, Republican policy for loss of CRP lands and hysterical development of ethenol. Everyone is missing the real story that this is a man made problem. The corn field run off water is full of hot manure. The Mississippi mess and delta dead zone is caused by agricultural policy and corporate farm greed.

The Mississippi mess and delta dead zone is caused by runoff of weed-n-feed from suburban lawns. But blame the farmer, everyone else does.
