My wife and I have been there a few times to see the grand old lady. The Cooks were rebuilding the hotel one brick at a time with the $10 donation to walk inside and see history. I can't wait to see the whole thing finished and standing proud.

West Baden Springs is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The attention to details was amazing!

Mr. and Mrs. Cook deserve all of the kudos for making sure West Baden Springs remains part of Indiana history.

I was just there last weekend.

The hotels are amazing. They did a great job.

The casino is very nice also.

The French Lick golf course is a disaster; terrible, terrible shape.

Can't wait to see the round one. Although I think they killed them off (in the future) when they ok'd slots at Shelbyville....

“So I've got that going for me.”

If you don't gamble, or if you can't afford the rooms, you still owe to yourself to see this jaw-dropping structure.

How something so wonderful found its way to the hills of Southern Indiana is a mysterious and improbable story. How it was restored out of the goodness of one couple's heart is even more odds defying.

Magic like this doesn't happen too often in this world. Don't take it for granted ... go down and soak it in.

I first saw West Baden Springs when I "trespassed" back to it during a visit to French Lick in the late 80s. It was a disaster. Since then, I've been able to (with permission) watch the restoration and even climb the ladder up the outside of the dome. This is truly an Indiana treasure, and the Mr. and Mrs. Cook are Hoosier Heroes for saving this landmark from certain ruin. I can't wait to see it completed.

I've heard the prices of the hotel rooms are priced pretty steeply. I've also heard that the town of French Lick doesn't really have much to offer other than the hotel... Plus the drive down there is a pretty long drive. I'm from Southern Indiana and love the fact that the Cooks have restored the two old hotels and that the casino has been opened. I hope the hotels and the casino can make it - being so far away from Indy and Louisville. They need a train that runs from Indy to French Lick. That would be awesome.

The prices I was told were $250per night. But that is also the rack rate for the French Lick Hotel. Glad I have connections. I will fork over the cash to say at West Baden. Just to say that I've stayed there. Was there 3 weeks ago. Amazing what they have done. Not much in French Lick but look to surrounding areas for things to do. Holiday World is only about an hour away. Try the mom and pop eateries, they are very good. One at Patoka Lake and another up in Logoottee. Patoka is only a 15 minute drive and the other is only about 30 minutes. Wander Indiana. We do have alot of hidden treasures. The caves are very close also. Make a weekend of it and take the family. My kids loved the hotel.

My husband and I stayed at the French Lick Springs Resort for our first wedding anniversary. During our stay we visted the West Baden and even though it was in much disarray it was a grand site to see. I've just made our reservations to stay at West Baden Hotel for our 13th wedding anniversary in the fall. I can't wait to see it restored to it's glory. A huge thank you for all involved in bringing this Indiana treasure back to life.

Extensive work is expected in the "downtown" areas of both towns in the future. Preliminary work is already underway. It will take a while as neither city has had the funds in the recent past for necessary upkeep of the infrastructure. It will get there - I just ask everyone to keep supporting this effort.
The Cooks are by far, my heroes!!

I can remember as a child driving past there on the way to see family. I always thought it was a beautiful structure. I am glad it has been restored. Even if the town does not have much to offer, it's worth it for the scenery alone. Thank you to the Cook family. Job well done!!!!!!!!!!

My grandparents used to take us into French Lick and West Baden when we were down for the summers. We'd go into some of the little shops, drive by Larry Bird's mother's home, stop by the Mennonite and Amish stores and, if we were lucky, go swimming in the hotel's huge domed pool.

I'm so glad to see both resorts restored!

Don't forget that in the winter there is skiing in Paoli, too!

Golf course suffered damage to Bermuda grass from a late freeze, ask anyone south of Bloomington about Bermuda, many, many courses affected.
