I would just like to say that i am a 9th grade student in Commack High School. I am reading this book and have just resently finished it. I think that it is not only rude but arrogant that you would get to some point in a bok and stop reading it. That SCENE may be "explict" but if you would keep readoing you would relize that there is a point to all of the points in the book. It is one of the best books that i have ever read and after reading a book that i disliked last year it is releaving to read a book that i can relate to. This child was not forced to read this book and when w were givin the sheet of books we could read we were told to check out the books. If you are not mature enough to read somethign like this you are not mature enough to be in high school.

I read perks of being a wallflower before entering high school in port Washington, and believe it or not but most of my English class that semester read it as well.
During that first semester of high school we as a class read girl with a pearl earring which is also "graphic"
I think its very sad one immatur child had to ruin it for everyone.
Especially since generally you talk about the books you read in high school your first semester in college.
Having all those literature references under my belt also helped me communicate better in other classes and in life.
Taking perks off the list is like not letting students read Romeo and Juliet for the double suicide or wuthering heights for the sexual content&incest.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Sagittarius

Watch out. Your mind is working overtime in full analytical mode, but you may be leaping to unfounded conclusions and reading too much into situations. The result of all this is that you might start to suspect someone's honesty or loyalty, and wonder what exactly they're up to. Don't accuse them of anything awful just yet because it may turn out that you were totally wrong about them.
