What a blast the kids must have had sitting in that meeting last week, with their parents. The kids were probably texting each other things like "can you believe this?", and "we'll be out until after the holidays!."

These parents are jerks. Stop trying to be your child's friend, and start being parents! Send them to school, its all B S.

There was one smart person interviewed:

Some students said they're not concerned because they don't believe the threats are serious. "I think it's just a prank," said Samantha, 14, a freshman, whose mother asked that her daughter's last name be withheld.

**********
What morons. There should be a parenting test required before some of these people are allowed to have children!

I agree the parents are morons, but a bomb threat is a serious offense. While security cameras in bathrooms are ILLEGAL and anywhere else wouldn't prevent crimes from happening, some administrative action must be taken. These kids have to be found and prosecuted.

And the parents need to keep better control over their kids. I went to that high school and with all the monitors around it couldn't be any safer. It's the kids themselves that need to be improved.

Just wait until the parents of the little darlings show up here and tell you how hard it is to keep children in line and that you don’t understand. I’ll refrain from calling them idiots and morons. I want to see just who or what they blame. I’ll bet they complain that there’s nothing for them to do and that the school is responsible.
There's plenty for them to do during school hours. For example, going to class, doing the work, making a better life for themselves, NOT writing on the bathroom walls...

The problem is as much the parent's fault as the school's. And the parents think that they can send the kids to school to get them off their hands and relinquish all responsibility for them. And if they get in trouble for faking a bomb, it's the school's fault for not keeping an eye on them when they go to the bathroom. THAT'S why they are morons.

This is happening in North Babylon also, I for one do not take this as a prank. This is our children having to go to school in fear that they may or may not have a bomb go off!! That is no way to live! How do you learn anything when your mind is else where? Children should be safe in school, And they are not!

At least West babylon is doing something about this serious threat, Unlike No. Babylon that just wants to sweep it under the rug like it is not important. I agree that some student knows but, Who is going to go through high school with the knickname RAT? Tough times for these kids. Also alot of gang activites in No. Babylon what a disgrace!!!!!

Of course these are pranks and as long as the school keeps taking then seriously there will continue to be copy cats. When was the last time you heard about someone actually doing something and leaving a note beforehand? Wake up people. If someone is going to blow up the school do you really think they will leave a note in the school. The kids are laughing at the system and making a mokery of it.

Today (dec. 5th) We were in Lock Down... again thats the 6th threat in less then a month, If you want to go and find out who is doing it then look for the kids absent on all 6 days , bad scores (in all classes) , and has a bad recoard. thats how u do it.

i go to west babylon, and i have discounted every threat as a prank, but just as well i am loosing time in my AP classes. I don't believe that there is any real threat, but i am a regular student with no bad record and i am sick of being punished because of some stupid kids that probaly won't graduate anyway.

okay I went to that school in the 70's gee wonder how many bomb threats happen then too...okay we are in a new error...but with the way the technology has changed you mean to tell me the school does not want to spend the extra money to have the call traced? This is no longer the olden days as my parents would say.

Because the principle and vice principle are snorting coke in the office in between disciplining students. I cursed at the lunch lady and got written up. I went to the vice principles office and he snorted lines while telling me to not curse the lady. I transferred to west babylon and have had no issues and the teachers seem cool.
