Do you think Rick Stokes doesn't want to pass this into law because of his alcholism?

If the passenger(s) are the only ones drinking, what harm are they causing? At least they are not drinking and driving. Just enjoying themselves. Not harming anyone.

There;s a law against this? What about being drunk as the passenger? I've done it plenty of times, this is news for me.

Yes. They are always telling people to do the right thing and NOT drink and drive. So if you have a driver who is not drinking why would it be a crime? The only reason they would make a crime is to increase revenue for "safety reasons". They have to make up for lost revenue by people having a DD and not being able to issue DUIs. This is the way to do it.
Next it will be, you can't smoke in your car for safety reasons. Then you can't drink soda/coke in your car for safety reasons.$$$$$.
The new police chief was all for making it illegal. She was also for the Travel safe zone in place.$$$$. Not sure her values fit in here in Wentzville, wish we could vote her out of a job.

It doesn't bother me that the open container law was voted down twice. Why don't we enforce the laws we already have?

Remember the girl in Dardenne Prairie who killed two people while driving drunk? Maximum sentence: 20 years, actual sentence: 120 days.

Write all the laws you want; there will still be drunk drivers, robbers, and murderers.
