I do not want to be making rumors- but a few people have said that Donut Time Shop downtown is closing? How sad- another small local buisness closing. That is one reason why my family loves it out here because of the local great places to go to such as Donut Time, West Allen Grill restaurant, Old Time Pub, etc. Does anyone know if it is true and if they know them well enough to talk them out of closing?:)

The problem with donut shops these days is the younger policemen do not hang out in them anymore.

Went past donut tyme today. It closed as of January 31.

Could the closing of this locally owned small business be related to the recent expansion of Wal-Mart into a Super-bethemoth of a store?

Is this another example of corporate greed killing the local businesses?

There was a higher proportion of blacks in Wentzville BEFORE the West Countians moved further west. Donut Tyme failed because they didn't have a selection past 8am. I had been there quite a few times early in the morning and without donuts, you can't run a donut business. Sad, but true.

Also, Walmart didn't do it. There are other, better places to get donuts. Schnucks donuts have always been better. In addition to Walmart and Schnucks, Dierbergs, Target and Save-a-Lot are also in town and likely sell donuts.

The truth is, if a place caters to it's customers, they will stay in business. Stephanina's has been doing just that and now it's thriving in a location that no other business in the past has been able to survive in. The current Steph's building has been Golden Corral and Ponderosa and that's what I can remember.

A new business re-opened in Donut Tyme's place. It's called Old Friends Vintage Guitars. Besides selling Guitars, its a great place to just sit in and drink coffee and surf the internet. Great people. the owners of the building offered the lady @ Donut Tyme to stay there, but she was ready to retire.

It's been a few years since you have written that statement about all tge blacks. It's really sad that in this day in age that an unintelligent, prejudice, & overall just simply ridiculous excuse for a human being is even allowed to make such racist statement where children of any nationality could actually see this "garbage" & be molded with your perceptio...get a life!! If God hasn't already relieved you of the miserable you have!
