Why Evolution is True, But Coyne is Wrong About Religion, Part II: Lessons of Dover

Full story: Discover

At the outset of really digging into Jerry Coyne's stance on science and religion, let's pose a question: Why do we care whether or not the two are compatible? The answer is that one might care for many reasons.

Riiiiight, and the last time I checked those dykes were holding up quite well, despite all the pressure from the ocean tides...so, now go stick your other foot in your pie hole...a pie hole is what fundies run when they can't understand the science...what a douche you are...You didn't even realize your analogy made the point that science has held back fundiots for CENTURIES...duuuuuh.

I'm a dyke and I don't care that religion is compatible with science

religion is outdated and change resistant

it fundamentally is not compatible with science

It's "dike," actually. A "dyke" is something entirely different. LOL.

I don't know about that. In both cases, when the water breaks things go downhill fast..........

It is a good article. I guess Pakman jumped right in with his stupidity in order to destroy the topic.
The high-school dropout rate in the US is 30% and we rank 27th (citation needed) in science and mathematics in the developed world.
Let the fundamentalists keep up the good work and pretty soon we'll be ranked among third-world countries.

IN Dutch, it is spelled dijk.

Not at all sure what pakman4 is talking about when he says dykes hold back water. Maybe it's an exercise in bladder control.

I like your observations/statement!! But be careful with the nut drivers, you may need to get them out to use on some of these people!!! And some heat-shrink may also be helpful.

And here all this time I thought it was great big piles of dirt, rocks and stone.

And it was lesbians the whole time...

One wonders how, though? Do they lie along the beaches in large groups, to block back the sea?

There'd have to be a great many Dutch dykes in that case... who knew?

That is a lying for Jesus website.

Which means YOU were lying, too.

Why do you Christians feel the need to LIE?

Is it because you don't have the TRUTH on your side? So you HAVE to lie about things?

Hmmmm.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Virgo

If the December sales are calling you, you'd better work out a budget before you leave the house. Otherwise, you'll be tempted to use your credit card first and only consider the cost of your purchase later on. Even so, you could track down some great bargains now, provided you don't get carried away and buy items that you don't really want simply because you're astonished by the amount of money you'll save in buying them. But you'll save even more money if you don't buy them!
