I knew a few of the kids that were killed in the car accident. There was one female survivor. From what I remember from back then, she was the only one asleep when the accident happened and apparently survived because her body was at total relaxation. However I remember knowing that she was paralyzed. The other 4 died instantly....very sad time for us kids at Hazelwood Central. All of the visitations were held at the same time at Hutchens Mortuary from what I recall. Kids just walking from room to room in lines. After those years, I never heard anymore about the young lady that survived, but have thought about her and the other 4 many times throughout the years.
I remember that accident.I remember remember that tree they hit. Back in those days it was common for show off drivers on those back roads to build up speed approaching a hill and try to get all four of their wheels to leave the pavement when they hit the top of the hill. That tree was on the other side of one of those hills in the road. That tree must have been around four feet in diameter and was right next to the road. The day after the accident we drove by that tree and I remember all the trash from the emergency responders scattered around the area along with flowers left at the site. A buddy of mine went and saw the car at the junk yard and claimed that he saw broken off finger nails embedded in the dash on the passenger side. I will always remember that incident.

the road that those teens were killed on was coal bank rd. Back when i was real young,my aunt and uncle were teens, and they use-to hill-hop coal bank rd.Then when my sister and i got older,i remember my sister hill-hopping coal bank rd in her sunfirer with me and some friend.About two weeks after our jump(which scared the sh*t outta me)4 teens in a car hill-hopped and hit a tree, and they all died except for the driver.I do believe the cut the tree down cause i have looked for it.

I remember the Coal Bank crash. Was working at the hospital when they came in, very mangled. Not sure about the Old Jamestown crash but I did see this story on the bubbleheads. What a cool house.

No bubbleheads!!!!
WHAT!!!

This is really getting depressing.
How am I suppose to have any mystery, enchantment or excitement in my life without myths, legends and tall tales?

First there was no Easter Bunny.
Then no Santa Clause.
Then no witches.
Then no ghosts.
Then no angels.
Then no Gods.
Then no space aliens.
Then no bubble heads.

How can life be interesting and exciting without myths?!

Reality are like totally boring!
Science and rational thinking just ruin everything!

I walked down that road backwards with nothing on but a backpack while holding a pair of divining rods and I had a copy of "The Exorcist", a ghost magnet and one of those battery powered mechanical laughing boxes in the backpack.
A person living on the road asked "What do you think you are doing?"
I said, "Looking for bubbleheads!"
He said, "Are you NUTS? I've lived here for years, there are no such thing as bubbleheads!"
I thought, "Ha! He thinks I'm nuts? He's the one that doesn't even believe in bubbleheads!"
Of course, with all of his "bad vibes" messing with the spiritual ether and all, the bubbleheads never showed up that night.
But I did get a few really nasty bug bites.
Non-believers are such a bring-down. Bugs suck too.

The death out there involved students from McCluer High School. I think it was around 1996. I wish I could recall the details.
I knew one of the girls who died out on that road. She was from McCluer North High School and the driver was under the influence at the time. That entire section back there is a known place for students to "cruise" aka, drive around and smoke marijuana. Really dangerous stuff.

The kids were from Rosary. I think one might have been from a different school. Would have been sometime around the fall of '86. Was a terrible wreck. I was there the day after. Such a tragedy.

anyone ever herd of the house off ladue road. were you would have to drive up the windy skinny driveway and put your brights on the garage door and the faces would apear! holagrams, the drive way was really narow and you would have to back out cuz there was no room or time to turn around. if you drove off the driveway you would get stuck because there was a 6-8 inch drop off! it was called laughing lakes and the story was that the guy drowned his kids in the lake and it was there faces on the garagedoor.the faces were totaly there now if he was a rich guy who had his familys faces on the door than thats that!

,i dont know if the story is true but, the faces were on the door100% for sure! we did this twice and the faces would apear, we had a video camera fully charged and 2 times we were recording and as soon as we hit the brights the camera turned off!! it was freaky and the lady would also come out with a shotgun! i think she was tired of people driving to her house and eventually put up a chain link gate, we had to cut the lock to get back there!
