Bare Feet Get Baby Booted from Burger King

There are 285 comments on the snafu-ed.blogspot.com story from Aug 6, 2009, titled Bare Feet Get Baby Booted from Burger King. In it, snafu-ed.blogspot.com reports that:

Baby feet are so cute, and in particular, my baby's feet are so cute. However, when Burger King says "no shoes, no service," they feel it applies to a baby, even a six-month old one. Thus, we find a barefoot baby being kicked out of Burger King.

This kind of discrimination is something I face once in a while since I am a barefooter (I belong to The Society for Barefoot Living) and it's amazing to us the weirdness some people have over going barefoot! Hey it's normal and natural, comfortable and to us fashionable, and if most guys are to be believed it's sexy! And KNOW there are no laws or "health codes" about it in places like Burger King. If someone tells you that, they are wrong. I've even had mall cops mention it to me and tell me I had to put on shoes, and I told them to show me the law or written company policy for the place that owns their property (the mall) and they finally dropped the subject. There's just no reason to object to anyone being barefoot!

BAREFOOT SANDALS – if you are a barefooter and want to hold to a minimum anybody hassling you about it in places like shopping malls or the store, Google a picture of "barefoot sandals" and either purchase some or make your own, they're really very simple! I wore them all the time in high school because I got tired of this one teacher in particular telling me that I had to put on at least flip-flops.

I have no problem believing they encountered ignorance like this, I truly don't know what the phobia is Americans (in particular) have with people going barefoot! I mean okay you put on flip-flops, your feet are still exposed so it can be that. And the bottoms of your feet get no more dirty than the bottoms of issue, so it can't be that either. It must be – the very idea of it! And no, it's not a "health code" either. And just like driving barefoot, which is only illegal in one state (you can look it up on the website for The Society for Barefoot Living) well it's just amazing the discrimination ppeople run into like me, who simply hate shoes and don't like to wear them. To church, the mall, you name it – I'm usually barefoot! Even in the wintertime, and less like it's nose or something. Then it gets slippery and unsafe. That's by some ingenious person invented "barefoot sandals" it takes people like that in fix them out so they leave you alone!

Was the baby walking on their floors?

Was the baby a customer?
