I called South Jefferson store and they said was closed for re-modeling, not sure how long. I am sure they waited until the South Jefferson store was open so that they could screw you you of stop payment since there is another store open in St. Louis you can use temprorarily

Call the city and you will find out that Blast is lying. The city didn't shut them down. Blast has been operating for nearly a year without a business license or an occupancy permit.

The city didn't shut them down, but they should have!

Non-compliance by the previous owner? Another lie. There are reviews all over the internet about the horrendous conditions since Blast took over in May 2012.

Any business that stalls getting a business license for a year, that operates a dump full of faulty equipment and that lies about why they are shut down should make everyone think. Remember they already pulled the fast disappearing act on another St. Louis location and I'd be surprised if this one ever re-opens.

They lie to employees and there members. So calling the jefferson location will get you no where. They put employees at club locations under fire without letting them know the truth. The only corporate number employees have to give is a voicemail. They send out false hopes to employees to make them think improvement and keep them in the dark enough to be unsure entirely in hopes that they will still create revenue and push memberships. Bc anyone with a conscious wouldn't sell a membership to someone if they knew they were closing. But then the clubs close. They are snakes. Cancel your membership but be kind to the club employees they are being screwed the same as the members. Don't believe the corporate lies. It is sad situation all around. They are blaming ballys and yes they had there problems but no where near what is going on now.

They will not be reopening. New sign on the door as of 5/1 says that the location is closed for business and to visit their Jefferson gym. Do you research people. In the state of Missouri, if your gym closes down and doesn't have another "comparable" facility within 10 miles you are entitled to a refund or are allowed out of your contracts immediately. Good luck getting anywhere however

I talked to a person who works for the city, that person said that since Blast was a new owner they had to comply with the current city regulations, which is a full Fire Suppresion System throughout the building, another words, a sprinkler system even over the tennis courts, weight area and swimming pool. This person said the cost for that was over $100,000. Person also said that the pool would require a full time life gaurd, as the pool is over the maximum length that the city regulations say it can be with out a life gaurd. Looks like the city basiacly shut it down by thier hideous regualtions, kind of like thier houseing regulations...

I heard it was eviction because they weren't paying the rent that was agreed to with Ballys.
