The state should raise the driving age to at least 18. Too many young drivers who still don't understand about speeding can kill.

I thought that it was against the law to have other teens in the car with u.

That is true in MA but not sure if it is true in Maine. This is every parents nightmare, and I am very sorry for both parents who have lost, but what were 16 years doing out driving at 3:00AM? I thought this age group was restricted to how late they were allowed to drive on the road. Is that not true in Maine?

3:00 am was the time of death not when the accident occured. Next time read the article first.

Parents please talk to your teens about safe driving and speeding. My heart goes out to the these parents, how tragic.

Hey clueless comment clowns lets stick to the subject. A family lost a child. Pea and moan about the laws later.

Sorry to hear about your loss Lummy, hang in there.

So sad....I have two boys and one drives way too fast and I have discussed it with him many times. You are driving a weapon. My prayers are with the families.

NO, its not poor parenting, its the teen, it was his choice, his parents probably had no idea about it, and how about instead of being rude, be considerate towards the family. Sorry for you're loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Not just kids. I know a 37 year old woman who has driven 110 mph while texting her friends what she is doing.
Texts daily while driving. How many will she kill before she stops? Cops let her go with a warning.

Hey hash brown breakfast, this is a public forum and everyone has a right to their own opinions. Also, you might actually learn something for free. No one has said anything to disrespect the families. We just bring up a very simple rule so we don't have to this kind of sad news in the newspaper if we all follow the rules and regulations.
