Not to mention, it was about two months late in its distribution after a good portions of kids had already been sickened with the swine flu.

This mix-up has nothing to do with Coakley/Brown/Obama...we have been distrubuting the flu shot in Massachusetts way before President Obama! And it is not too late for any flu or pneumonia shot.

That is probably one of the stupidist, most irresponsible things a nurse can do. If I were a parent of a child at that school, I'd be banging down the door for that nurse to be replaced immediately!!!!

You are correct, unless, of course, one has already suffered with one or both of these flues this season.

"No students were ever in danger..." ?!!!! Of course they were! It depends on the type of insulin you give someone! If these kids had been given a large dose of short-acting insulin, they could have DIED!!!! That is the stupidest statement I've ever heard.

The nurse who gave the insulin should be terminated immediately and not put on PAID leave. She should probably be drug-tested as well.

Scary, scary story.

Whatever. The point is the someone could have died from this nurse's negligence. I am a nurse, and I know what I'm talking about.

Luck has nothing to do with it,they do not drug test for renewals!
Random testing is done, your name comes up on the computer and your employer sends you to a licensed testing facility!
Of course your employer can, upon suspicion of drug use, require you to be tested!
Simply keep a little packet of a lovely powdery concoction in your wallet, you empty it into the specimen cup,pee into the cup,and WAAALAAH,clean test!
