Nice try at fear mongering though. When you read the real quote you realize that Obama is standing up for what our founders intended America to be and not what it has unfortunately become.

This is a minor technicality which doesn't really change your excellent point. Carter didn't pardon Liddy. He commuted the sentence.

I wonder though ... did Liddy ever pay the $40,000 fine?
