Haunted places in Mcdowell County

Have any of you ever known of a place, building, bridge, or any other area that is haunted or rumored to be haunted. And if so, under what circumstances was this noted by you. WV True ghost stories has a story about the bottom of Elkhorn mountain. I know we can get some good Davy Stories.lol

I was always afraid of Justice graveyard in Asco Hollow,the graves are so old many have collasped over the years,But i never saw a ghost there.I really dont believe in ghost,not till i see one

I always heard twin branch tonnell was hauted. I heard bacl in the late 50's or? the tunnel was a railroad tunnel and a ladie went back into the tunnel and killed herself. later they put a road thru the tunnel. story is if you walk thru the tunnel at night you have a possiablity to see her. I walked thri the tinnel at night I never seen her but, some have and I belive maybe they did. And, I would have to say walking thru it at night is very scary. I have never walked only run as fast as I could.

I lived in #3 Bartly near the Mine that blew up and killed 91 men. One night I went fishing in my favorite fishing spot near the tipple, and I sit down and looked to mt left and saw a man sitting there I figured he was there fishing, and I noticed he didnt have a lantern but i figured he might be using a flashlight. So I looked at my line to see if it had sunk properly and guit driftingdown stream and as I looked back the guy was gone. Well to this day I'm stumped on the matter, and I dont know wher ehe went or how le left without a flashlight or lantern nore without making a sound. Has anyone else had a simular experiance at Bartly?

i heard something about a fire truck at panther. but i don't really know how the story goes.

When i was a kid we lived in the head of Asco hollow, and my mom swore that the house was haunted.You coud be upstairs and hear paper being wadded up or water being splashed from our old wash tub.

I know a guy that has pics of the bad flooding in Gary, and one of the pics looks exactly like several erie faces looking up from the floodwaters. He probably should do something with that pic because it is the most evidence I have ever seen of something paranormal.

when we lived on premier mountain- there was a little road next to the radio station that went up into this little holler. there was a very old chruch that was falling down and everyone there said it was haunted. i was just a small child and with all of the stories that were handed down to us kids - i was scared to go in it but my sister and brother and their friends did.
there was also another house out that little road that was supposed to be haunted. it was deserted and of course it did not have any electric going to it but on different occasions, i think that i remember lights shinning out one of the windows. others claim that they saw things going on in there.

my husband's mother and father live in mercer county but.... their house DOES INDEED have strange goings on in there. i have seen things and heard things in there myself.
i think that kids can sometimes "see" or "feel" things a little better than adults and my little girl has had the crap scared out of her on more than one occasion.
lights flicker(switches MOVE up and down), there is someone that whistles, stuff has mysteriously came off the wall and smashed, balls have rolled across the floor(when no one was playing with it), there are knocks on the walls, you can sometimes see someone walk into rooms or past you out the corner of your eyes, it seems as though- it likes to hide things.
i know that there are going to be some that read this and think that i am full of crap and some that may not...either way is fine.. i know that i didn't believe this stuff happened when they told me about it when my husband and i first started dating but after spending some time there, i began to see it for myself- i am not crazy these things happen there. the cleaning ladies came one time and something happened(which to this day they will not say exactly what) but they left in such a hurry they left all their stuff and refused to ever go back

Gosh its been around 35yrs ago, I was very young but can remember a little.I am almost certain it was the last house in the hollow, we lived beside of Ernest and Georgie Bishop.

have any of you ever seen the little whitish circles in pictures called "orbs". it is supposed to be someone else in the pic with them. don't know if it is like "angels" or what- my cousin thinks that we all have these people (i forget what she call them) that go with us everywhere. anyway- some of the pictures that i have of my little girl have the "orbs" in them. they are seen in a lot of christmas pictures too. they are really neat, i guess, if you believe in that sort of thing.

I was working at #8 mine and a lot of the people there was scared to go out at dark because of the Fire turck. They done the TV6 news series on the truck becaue every time it was seen a house burned down. Well one day me and my wife was driving across greenbrier mountian and out pulled this old fire truck as plain as day, and I looked over at my wife and said my my my they are sure hard up for a fire department. Well right after that the sightings started and lots of guys was realy on the edge of their seats..
