But don't you have to register hand guns in WV? If the crap comes down don't you think you'd be better off to have an unregistered weapon?

If youre goin to buy a gun for protection, Don't buy a mouse gun. Get at least a 38 caliber, ruger makes them in a small frame. Use Plus +P amunition, that way when you use it you wont get it took away from you and turned on you. Take a fire arms safety class and they will instruct you on how toload the gun and what type of ammo is best under the circumstaces. Its best to have a shell that works than to have a criminal invaed your house and use the gun on you.

I would not have a gun that I would use unless it is registered.
If your worried about the confiscation thing, you can always say you sold it a long time ago.
Its better that way.
If you have a gun that isn't registered, you can bet it is registered to someone, and if you use it, the original owner will be notified of the gun, and you can bet he or she is going to say, it was stolen. So now here you are with a gun that was (in their words) stolen.
Now how are you going to explain where you got it?
If I'm going to be a hit man and kill people for nothing a none registered gun might work, but a law biding citizen is better off having the gun in their name, at least you wont be tried for stealing a gun from a person that you don't even know. Believe me 9 out of 10 people will say the gun was stolen rather than to tell who they sold it too.

Ps. I personally carry a 45 automatic loaded with 230 grain eldurados, and it pick a man up and sling him out in yard if need be. He wont need but about one of those in him. And that gun is definatly registered in my name.

Actually, most of my handguns are registered, but I do have a few there were inherited from way back before registration was necessary. One was bought in Louisiana back in the early 80's before they got all silly about registration. I don't trust any government enough to register everything.

Don't care much for semi-automatics because that slide action is a bit distracting to me. I guess it is just that I was raised on revolvers, so that is what I prefer.

I just bought a .17 caliber Savage rifle and I love it. That thing is just lightening fast and deadly accurate. My son shot a rabbit with it a few weeks ago at the back of the property and that thing was dead before it knew what hit it. Pretty impressive for a small caliber rifle. I guess what it lacks in size it makes up for in accuracy and speed.

I have an old .38 pistol that was my grandfathers from when he was a constable down in Keystone back in the 30's. It was part of a set of 2. My sister got one and I got the other. It's got a bent site on it and if you aim, you can't hit the broad side of a barn, but I still love that gun more than any other one I have.
