My husband recently purchased one of these things. After smoking Marlboros for over 25 years, the day he got his electronic cigarette, he hasn't smoked another one since. He says he can smell smokers now and the smoke room they use is disgusting. He's been smoke-free now for over 5 days. No withdraws, no cravings and no side affects as of yet.
There is no tobacco in them. Require no fire. There is only a vapor that comes out and it diminishes in like seconds after he exhales. This in itself doesn't make it smoking or a tobacco product. All that is used is a nicotine liquid, a cartridge and a battery that usually has an LED that lights up when you inhale. The LED can be blue, purple, green, yellow and even red. These things can look like screwdrivers, regular cigs or even pens. Hubby's is black with a blue LED. I can't tell when he's smoking, that's the truth. He can blow it in my face, two feet away and IF it makes it, I can't smell it.
Now why am I posting this? I am curious what folks will say when they see this. Realistically speaking, since he's not really smoking and it's not a tobacco product he could smoke indoors. Although be it he doesn't plan to, and even if he does he would ask permission first. Would you be opposed to someone using an Ecig in a public place? What's your thoughts on this?

What if you saw someone come into McDowell County with one of these things?

Not sure why my response is not showing up.

hope he enjoys it. there are a lot of suppliers out there. We got ours from Good Prophet.com and got some liquids from Rocky Mountain Vapor. Just got some from Wet Your Stick Eliquids that included some cuban, coffee and chocolate. The cuban is absolutely AMAZING!!!

best wishes on "vaping". I know I've enjoyed hubby not smoking anymore.

Ok, I took the bait and ordered one for myself. I'll let you know how it works for me. I'd LOVE to quit smoking.

Oh how WONDERFUL!! I'm so happy to hear some folks are giving this a shot too. Please don't forget to go to e-cigarette-forum dot com and find out all the reviews there are for these things. Also there are tings folks should knwo there too like poeople who use the Ecigars and Epipes. Please visit that forum and get all the low down out there. There are so many people that have totally stopped smoking regular cigarettes, or at least so I've read. I know what I'm seeing right in front of me. It's like having a 18 y/o husband on my hands again. Energy, appetite and he's happy to be rid of the tobacco. This is week two for us and he has found he REALLY enjoys the cuban cigar flavor from Wet Your Stick. There are so many flavors out there too, wow.

Which model did you order Missy? From where? What's your DH say about it? Where all will you 'vape'? What does he think the law will be about them? Techically it's not smoking, but why split hairs with the law, know what I mean? Please let us know where all you try this thing out at. I'm so excited to hear about other people's experiences.

Like I said yesterday, we ordered ours from GoodProhet, the guy Rob is just phenominal to work with. We ordered it on Friday, we got it Monday morning. Hubby has got some coffee flavor too and it's just amazing. LOL I hope he gets the cheesecake sometime soon.

OH ya, before I forget. Be very careful where you order from. Some shipments are being held up in customs for a while.

My very best wishes to all.

Had to post this. This is day 8 of hubby not smoking a single cigarette in over 25 years. No cravings, no desire to smoke either. We figured he's saved about $70 so far and not smoked over 230 regular cigarettes.

Husband ordered some havana and cuban flavors and it's just like he's smoking a cigar. The chocolate is like eating a hershey or a dove chocolate bar. The cola is like popping the top on a soda and the coffee is just as good as Starbucks. The blackberry is STRONG, whooo, like having a cobbler in the house.

I almsot have to get some cheesecake and strawberry now. Someone even came out with a whiskey flavor for the Ecigs. LOL

Does anyone know where LorAnn flavorings are sold?

Hope you're doing well Missy. Would love to know where you got your Ecig from. Take care.

I ordered it from smoke everywhere. I have not received it as of yet. I'm excited to get it. Looks like that company is in Florida.

I can't believe how quick your husband got his. I can't wait to try it.

I don't know where I'll try it at. You know I live with the law, so I have to be careful. I'll have to ask him what he thinks.
I already have this thing about where I will and will not smoke at. When I was in college someone told me that a true lady doesn't smoke on the streets. lol. I slip out a back door or something unless I'm at home.

Goodness Gracious! I checked the card to see if it had been taken off there yet...guess what?
I used my child support visa, and there wasn't enough there.
Ordering another one tonight from a different company that I found that's cheaper and they don't send you stuff unless you call them. The first one auto sends and charges.
Maybe it's really that semi-charmed life of mine keeping it from going thru.

Here, this is where we got ours and the guy has a phone number you can call if need be. That is really hard and rare to find.

goodprohet dot com guy's name is Rob and he will give you a 30ml bottle of your choice for free when you order. His J510 kits are like $52 I think. Two days is all it takes for his stuff to come from PA to here in WV.

Also can check out rocky mountain vapor and cignot (just opened a US based company-- originally out of China). Their kits are some of the most reasonably priced ones around with some of the best flavors too.

Hope this helps.

PS forgot to ask if when you find out what Lawman hubby says about them please post would you? thanks.

Thought I'd post this since I found it out. Smoker friendly even sells these things but be aware-- they are not great and are overpriced if you buy there. They are selling one model for 70$ and it's not that great.

Also, if you are looking for flavors to add to some flavorless mg of nicotine, Walgreens, New Graham and Food City sells the flavors. They will also carry the PG you would need. Not sure yet where to pick up VG.

Thought I'd let folks know. Also got four folks who have bought kits and stopped smoking.

Lastly, something I've noticed. If driving while vaping, the blue LED may cause others in front of you to slow down or pull over. LOL We are already looking to get a different color LED.

Just thought I'd let folks know.

I got mine in the Fed Ex box today. Finally! I don't quite have it figured out yet. Either I don't know what I'm doing, or there really isn't enough vapor.
I was supposed to charge them for three hours, but the one I tried read on the charger it was fully charged.
It was also alot heavier than I expected. Will have to get used to that.
Wife of Ex Smoker, ask your DH if he has any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong.

Missy, what model did you get? Some may not give enough vapor for you, others might give too much. The ecig forum is the best place to get advice and help. Did you get e-liquid too? You have to keep the cartidge wet, helps with vaping as well.

Also there are a LOT of videos on youtube about this subject and even DIGG info available. Still the best wealth of knowledge is at the ecig dot com forums.

Best wishes.

Somehow I guess I wasn't doing it right, but eventually I either figured it out, or it took pity on me and started working.
I've carried it all day today, but did reach for the Marlboro's a few times. Of course my kids and my husband have both had a chuckle over me and my gizmo.
I did get some of the e-liquid and refill cartriges. I'm still learning, but getting closer to understanding.
