I thought everyone vote not to take trash from other states? Now there hauling it in by train and when you drive by it really does stink!
Our county gets the shyty end of everything people should try to stop this!! This county already is bad, and they just want to make it worse, water not drinkable, roads no good, drugs, land destroyed !! They take the coal, timbers, and gas and we get the trash!! You can move but your house is not worth anything because of the abuse to the county!!!

It's cheaper to dump trash alongside the main roads

A lot of folks in McDowell do that.

I did a driveby on 09.16.2012. It has a large gate at the enterance, It was closed. Signs posted, No Trespassing.

The R/R is down over the hill. They will need dump trucks to transport it for the R/R too the landfill.

Is out of state garbage coming in now?

this is the best thing that can help the county take in more money. We also need to think about taking in nuclar waste. That would be big bucks.they can store it in the abandied coal mines.EPA is going to close them all anyway.

how will this help the county, the money will go into some crooks pocket! What happened to all the money from all the years it has been a county? This is one of the richest county's in the state their is millions of dollars made here and we don't see anything but trash, and wasted land and nasty water !!! So again I ask how will this help ??? Will it make our water better? Will they make a park on it? Oh It creates jobs and it will probably employ about 5 people!!! I'm not saying we don't need a landfill because one ride down the road shows that we do, but we don't need anymore abuse we already have more than we can handle now!!!!!!

That's what you get when you keep putting your trust in the "Good Ole' Boys" regime there in the county.
I have expressed about this a number of times that they are not one bit interested in for the better of the county.
All they have ever cared about and will always care about mostly is money and themselves.
Allowing Wal-Mart,McDonald's and the prison to be built they didn't do it for the welfare of the county, they did it for them selves because it put money in their pocket and being hired at either one of those places falls under the same ole' rule as usual which is that its not how well you can work there but its who you know and as always you have some people working at them places that don't need to be there because at least some of them aren't really properly trained and mostly don't have the right attitude for the job..
Dumping your garbage on the side of the road isn't the answer either because eventually what that does is cause viruses and diseases and when a storm comes through it picks it up and carries those viruses off to other places throughout the county and eventually somebody will get sick and it could be someone that you care about and God forbid that person gets sick and also dies.
So,what I'm saying is,think before you throw trash out on the road that comes from your home, think about who you are voting to keep in office or vote out to put in office.
Your vote can either start healing the county or continue to destroy it and keep it in ruins.

you have no brains to know how much work and time goes into getting these things in Mcdowell. All countys keep a little in there pockets.I have bills just like you.If someone wants to give me a couple grand to heat my house or pay my insurance for all the hard work I do for my people in this county it is none of your business for what ever reason you left here.We are in the surville mood.We will take anything that will help the county in the black and there is nothing wrong for taking a little tip.By the way I do have a college degree.
