Hypothetically: Im an idiot looking to kill somebody and you don't have a gun in your house but your friend does. The target is going to be you because you are easy pray but your friend is not. Heck he might want to shoot me first and well that's gonna hurt my coward self or worse kill me. See the logic. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think so.

Now cookie. You know that my post was pure logic. Maybe my solution sounds a tad radical. But ya know, desperate times, desperate measures. I won't argue that your idea might work to a degree but I think it would take forever to actually put into action. Many steps and red tape, buildings, staff members, guidelines and criteria, etc. In the meantime lets get our qualified citizens armed which would take a far less amount of time and stop the morons dead in their tracks before they murder totally innocent people like our children and the citizens of our great country. I feel good knowing that I have the right to protect myself. I hope everyone of us feels the same. Now come on folks. Get on down to your local weapon supplier,do the proper paperwork and lets get armed!!! Its your right per our constitution.

The mother of the killer in Connecticut was legally armed.

That's where her crazy son got the guns.

Personally, I don't think there's going to be an easy answer to this problem. Banning guns isn't necessarily the answer because, after all, we banned heroin and meth and that hasn't done much good, has it?

We might have to take a serious look at the types of weapons available to the general population, but that's not much going to matter. Hell, in the 1920's a nut blew up a school house in Michigan killing 30 some kids using explosives.

I find it interesting that if you look at the people that have committed these crimes over the last few years, every one of them has fit the same basic profile. A loner, an outcast, and/or a social misfit with a long list of mental problems.

Bottom line is, I don't think we're going to solve this problem with platitudes about whether or not we control guns and or gun purchases. We're going to have to take a long hard look at ourselves and our society before we can ever begin to solve the problem of senseless violence.

You're right dog. Like you said, the roots to this problem are very deep. Now please excuse me, gotta run in here and get some more ammo. I have a feeling that evil is not going away any time soon!!
