I just wonder if the workers will be better off if the Russians go through with the deal or if it remains Bluestone? I think everybody is just getting tired of worrying about it and just wish they knew something good or bad.

Hopefully all the guys will know something soon. They have changed alot of shifts and done alot of drug testing (thank god). Alot of rumors going around about a lay off but noone at my husbands mines knows anything for sure or its just kinda one of those hold you breath and pray type deals.
They haven't let them know anything about the Russians or exactly when they are 'taking over' there have been so many dates come and go that they were told to them and still nothing has happened. We're just very thankful that he is still working and the men around him as well.
God bless all coal miners and their wives/ girlfriends. It takes a strong woman to hold it together knowing the dangers our husbands/boyfriends face everyday.

Every week it's something different! I don't understand why they don't just do the decent thing and tell the men what they are in for. It's not as if the men would quit if they don't like the news. There aren't any jobs to apply for anymore.

This is just a big bunch of sincerity BS! These employees done so much for this company where are they coming into this sale out. Jim Justice still isnt releasing any information on if the employees will keep there jobs or not.

The letter never said when but my husbands job is union and they would have to shut the mines down for 1 year and 1 day to get the union out I don't see how someone could pay this kinda of money for something just to let it sit for 1 year. People say that most of there coal will be shipped to Russia so low coal orders in the US should not effect them. Yes everything is hear say it would be nice if the new owners would come in and talk to everyone and let them know what they are going to do. Bluestone has already told everybody what they were going to do SELL.

my son worked for a contractor that hauls the coal from bluestones coal mountain side and they have not worked him for 2 wks and he hasn,t gotten a lay off slip according to the contractor the russins is to take over by friday then they will tell them who gos and who stays. my sons employer thinks that the trucking jobs will get to go back but not sure about the union jobs,
according to him also the russins bought the bussiness because it would be cheaper to own it and ship to russia then to buy from american companys.so they do want the coal so maybe every one will still have a job. thats some hope.
but clevencliffs will not be included in the sell.
those people may lose there jobs perment.

I am hoping that when the Russians take over that my husband can go back to work. He was one of the third shift union lay offs at Keystone. I hope the lay offs are temporary.

I hope so too. I have been reading all of the articles on the internet and they are making it all sound so promising let's just hope this turns out to be the case. One of the articles says something like they already have orders for the coal through 2009 so maybe that is a good sign they won't close it down for a year to get rid of the union.

Get used to it!I hate to be the ( bad newspaper boy) but all I have left is wisdom. All companies are doing what it takes to survive. The people who work for GM are just as angry as you. They all think that cheaper labor is the way to go.If you shop at walmart and you drive a car that is not an American car( I dont care where it was made)You need git with the program......Like I said, all I have left is wisdom.

From the newspaper articles I've read, it sounds less scary. I mean, it almost sounds as if Bluestone and Mechel are partners despite the fact that Mechel bought Bluestone. Justice said something to the effect that being a 'part' of Mechel could take Bluestone to the next level. Maybe this won't mean something horrible as so many have predicted. Maybe there won't be a shutdown or a layoff. Here's hoping.

Here's hoping that all the people who have been laid off will start working again soon.
