I grew up in Commerce and spent alot of time in Miami as a youngster. Dragging main was part of our leisure time activities back then, and I am so sad about what has been done to Miami's Main street. It is awful! Who made the decision to take out all the benches? I dont know who was in charge when this decision was made, but it was a BAD decision. Miami had one of the most unique Main streets that I have ever encountered. They worked hard to make it look nice. Now it looks like a ghost town. What a shame.

I coldn't agree more. But, at least they have spent a lot of money on the Coleman! That will bring the people in! HA HA!

Just curious...is the Coleman renovations done by the Coleman family or has the city purchased it and is spending tax payers dollars on it?

It was, I believe, "donated" to the city. Mostly tax dollars fix it. All the while, the streets of Miami are in the worst shape that I have seen in 30 years.

The Coleman Beautiful was donated to the city to be used as a cultural center by the granddauther of the family. It has been restored by donations, and fund raising. Some of the funds have been government grants.

The town of Miami is very lucky to have a theatre of this quality, as most towns of this time did not have quality structrues like this.

And what good is this "cultural center" when the Main Street Looks like a ghost town. Whomever made the decision to re-do Miami's main street should be denied whatever office they hold. If it was the City Council, then shame on them.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Capricorn

This is a marvellous day for having a discreet word in someone's ear. You'll be able to choose your words carefully, making you very tactful and considerate, and as a result you will have a helpful conversation. This is also a good opportunity to talk about topics that are very dear to your heart, or which are usually too private to mention.
