WEIRTON- Starting Wednesday morning, a portion of U.S. Route 22 known as "Robert C Byrd Expressway" and other roadways designated as memorial highways will be closed. This closing effects approximately 500 miles of roadway across West Virginia. The road closure, which is impacting 42 out of 50 states, is due to the Government Shutdown.
Barricades were seen being erected as late as Tuesday evening in Weirton. Department of Transportation employees were ordered to place orange cones and Emergency Road signs were brought in to detour traffic to side roads. State Troopers have been directed to arrest anyone traveling the empty highways during the shutdown.

Funny, but not true. In other news, because of the government shutdown, all WV State Troopers are on furlough. Guess I don't have to be worried about getting arrested on the empty "Robert C Byrd Expressway". I can make up the news too! Yay!
