Dude, are you trying to claim that Saddam's military (built and paid for by the US) invaded Kuwait OVER TWO DECADES AGO for reasons OTHER THAN OIL? Are you claiming that we ousted him from Kuwait for reasons OTHER THAN OIL? Are you trying to say that Saddam was a threat to Kuwait in 2003? Are you claiming that we started that illegal war because he posed a threat to Kuwait, or any nation on the planet for that matter? That war had no military or strategic purpose. The oil did not pay for the war (it actually caused prices to skyrocket, where they remain). There was no plan for exit. No goal. Nothing. It was for Cheney's business (Halliburton) and Bush's (oil). Even the goddamn GOP admits this shit. That's why Bush lives in exile and republicans would rather have Sarah Palin stumping on their campaigns than an admitted war criminal.

Come on, George. Get real.

What about the coal miners that were injured in the mines you support, or the Vets. that come home with PTSD, you are pathetic. If you do believe in God and think He will give you a pass on this, you are mistaken.
You are pathetic. Do you realize the military and goverment workers are happy when a republican is in office. If you dont believe me just aask them. You are absolutely crazy and you know nothing about military families. I swear you just ignore the facts so you can pretend to be politically correct. He doesn't. He signed the Lilly Ledbetter Act.
Programs that get people off welfare are education, training and jobs programs. The GOP has blocked or cut funding for all three in the past 5 years alone.
And our welfare program is the single, largest profit generator this country has. It frees us to take risks others cannot. Small businesses (85 percent of all US employment) wouldn't be started in this country at the scale they are if the risk of failure meant starvation.
Most people on welfare are working and over 90 percent of people receiving assistance are off the program within 5 years (70 percent within 3 years).
You're duped. The poor aren't the problem with this country's economy. But the people who DO damage our economy certainly want you to think they are. They want you to keep your anger and frustration pointed downward instead of upward. Because if we all pointed it at the rich who offshore cache, lobby for loopholes and outsource everything, changes would happen and they wouldn't benefit the rich. They'd benefit the nation.
You say it so well. Thanks

We can get that for less than minimum wage.
Thatís right. Letís give them $3.00 an hour and only the hours they worked; not any of that silly planning time, or any time they spend before or after school. That would be $19.50 a day (7:45 to 3:00 PM with 45 min. off for lunch and planĖ that equals 6 1/2 hours).

Each parent should pay $19.50 a day for these teachers to baby-sit their children. Now how many students do they teach in a dayÖmaybe 30? So thatís $19.50 x 30 =$585.00 a day.

I get pissed when people talk about how teachers are over paid. Two of my children are educators and ARE not overpaid.

So let me get this bloggers take on it right. He blames Republicans because Obama didnt bother to think about the possibility of Republican governors refusing to burden themselves with state run marketplaces when by law they didnt have to? LOL Ummm, that is a big forhead slapping DUH!!!. Maybe Obama should have used 2 brain cells and planned ahead. It is no shocker that Republicans refused to help a plan they strongly opposed all along, at least not to people who bother to think. I agree those governors were selfish and screwed the very citizens they were elected to help, but that was their right. It isnt fair to blame Republicans for Obama not planning for the obvious.

How much a big pay raise has teachers gotten in the last five years? If you have two educators then they must tell you how awful the school lunches are for the kids. You know what there are some wonderful teachers out there and then we have teachers who are not worth the money they get paid.

Beautiful mind......we had a nice debate going with no name calling accept your attemp to call me a rascist. It is simple to stop the killing. They stop the fighting. But they elect and follow terrorist orgainizations. The people who were backed was like choosing between Micheal Myers or Jason Vorhese all in the name of oil. These innocents as you proclaim are just a few. If their country does not care about the slaughter of their own people thoughout this long holy war they fight, then why should we? Yes we have been in many wars. But we had periods of peace. Plus some of the wars were needed unless you do not enjoy the freedoms that you and the rest of the world have.

Soemthing we agree on, Teachers are in one of the most underpaid professions there is. They do one of the most important jobs there is. They deserve more money, alot more money if they are good teachers.

I will spell things out for you since you dont even know the facts. Saddam invaded Kuwait starting a war. We went to war with Saddam over his invasion of Kuwait. Instead of crushing Saddam when he had the chance and the right, daddy Bush did the "civilized" thing and gave him one more chance after his surrender. Saddam surrendered and agreed to term for our ceasing military action against him. After years of increasing violations of his agreed upon terms of surrender, we used force and removed him from power, ensuring those terms. Thats the gfacts jack. You cant invade a country, start a war, surrender with agreed upon term and then violate those terms. The was was never over under the terms of surrender were completed, as with ANY war. Duh.

And if you want to say it was over oil because a brutal power hungry dictator invaded Kuwait over oil, yeah it was over oil. Saddam wanted to steal more oil, we stopped him. He surrendered and then didnt follow through on the agreed upon conditions of his surrender or we would have toppled him initially. We gave him a second chance and you fault us for it. Saddam was evil and needed to be overthrown. Good riddance.

Teacher pay is a joke. Name one professional career that requires a specialized degree where starting pay is 12 percent above poverty. There is no other group of professionals in this country that are more underpaid and underappreciated than teachers. They are responsible for the future of civilization. They must be teachers, investigators, counselors, policemen, nurses, negotiators, behavioral specialists, coaches, organizers, representatives, role models, parents and friends. All before 9 am today.

Having said that, our educational system has problems. We spend more to educate a single student here than in any other country in the world, but that students' performance falls about 50th on the list. That's a problem. We must change the way we educate kids. We expect students with poor parents who don't provide resources and guidance to compete with students who have every advantage. That doesn't work and the statistics prove it. We need better teachers, and you get them by paying them a professional salary. The GOP solution is the same - cut funding when there's problems. Thankfully, they have no power whatsoever.

So we invaded Iraq because he violated the terms of his surrender 22 years ago? Wow. Too bad George Bush didn't even use that lame-ass bullshit excuse. He tried the fake WMD route to scare people. Maybe he figured the "violations" excuse wouldn't fly. Not scary enough. Also, daddy Bush didn't "give Saddam a second chance." His advisors and intel was clear - you invade, we'll get our asses kicked over a decade and it'll cost us a few trillion dollars. Bush said, "Ok. We'll be leaving now."

George, you're hilarious.

You tell SHOW me the big pay raises teachers have gotten in the past 5 years. And teachers have nothing to do with school lunches. The lunches are free, if you don't want your children more healthy, pack them a lunch.
In any field you have good and bad. We have some wonderful, caring teachers that spend their OWN money for these kids. They love their children and want the best. And everyone forgets about the time they spend on lesson plans, parent conferences and phone calls. And extra curricular activities.
I've seen my daughter take food, pencils, paper that she paid for because someone was too poor. Ask any good teacher how much money they spend on their kids.

And dam Michele Obama for working to get our kids health. WV is the fattest state in the union. Our children are over weight and out of shape. They still believe food means love. They stick them in front of a tv or video game and bitch if they have home work.

Attitudes have to change or we will need more than ACA.

Coming from someone who has never had to send there child to school. You do not know anything about it so stop pretending. When you have several kids in the school system please come back and let mke know how it is working out for you.

True about teachers not getting enough pay. False that democrats or republicans have ever really tried to change anything. George Bush no child left behind was a step in the right direction.
