For those of us who live out of state, can someone post which county/courthouse the trial will be held in? Hoping and praying that justice for Don be served.

Second try at posting.....
I second Steve Nichols post! I knew Donny to be a kind and gentle soul....although we haven't spoken in some years I feel a huge grief in his passing. No matter his burden in life...who are any of us to judge one another. As his wife said...he was moving forward with God's grace...that is a fine man by my standards. We all have issues and he apparently was dealing with his...AMEN. He was and is loved by his Heavenly Father just like you and I. I am praying for a true healing for his family as I know that Donny would want that....what a sweet thing he was....I have some wonderful memories of him! Love and blessings to all, Celia Burrage Smith

I worked for Don for a few years and always enjoyed and respected him. I will remember him fondly for his laid-back Texas bonhomie and honest demeanor in an otherwise morally corrupt work-place.

Also recollected is the time Don dropped what he was doing, came to my apartment, and got my VW Rabbit fired up in a matter of minutes one freezing cold Tomball morning.

Best wishes to his family and fellow mourners.

I was so upset and sad to hear this. Don was always so nice to me at the rodeos and always had a smile on his face. His wife Kim is an amazing lady. Her and Don were always the happy couple and would do anything to help anyone out. Their love for eachother was enourous and showed in everything they did and the way the looked at eachother. I am praying for Kim and Ashley big time!

I worked with Don on a job in Sabine Pass and he was a good hearted, hard working man. I've heard that the trial has started. If anybody finds out the outcome, could you please post it on here? Thanks

Frankie Johnson changed his plea from not guilty by self defense to guilty to a lesser charger It went from Murder in the first degree felony to second degree felony, making the punishment 20-20 years instead of 5-99 years. Altho the hard part is over, please write Judge Richardson in asking for the maximum punishment allowed by law to be imposed. You can send to the DA Mr. Ken Sparks of Columbus County Courthouse, 400 Spring Ste 204 W, Columbus,, Tx 78934. Also requested the maxuim fine of $10,000 be imposed to help with Don's funeral expenses. Thank you for all the prayers. Kim could not have made it with out them!

Thank you for the information Brandy Reynolds. I took your advise and wrote a letter to the judge. Also, if donations are needed for funeral expenses, please let me know where to send them. Thanks.

I knew Don for thirty years. He and I worked for BJ Services. He was a hard worker. He always went the second mile for those who needed him to. He was very competent. He had a pleasant personality. I have heard of some of his struggles. I also know that he was a Christian.

His nephew should pay for this crime. A plea bargain and 20+ years would be appropriate.

Two lives were lost and many families have be torn apart as a result of this tragedy.
