Bill Price is a great Weddington citizen. I would value Bill on any town committee.

Based upon her thirty years, Half of Weddington qual. We do not need another Mayor with self servcing interest. |

Where are you getting self serving interest? Obviously to have your negative comments about Barbara and then Bill Price, you have a self interest in picking someone that you are supporting. Get real!
Clearly you do not listen well. Yes there are a lot of people in Weddington that are retired that have a thirty year business career. But It is a smaller percentage of the community that have vice president experience at a fortune 500 company, have traveled with their career internationally and dealt with international regulatory commissions, and had a departmental budget of 90 million dollars to manage. What is her self serving interest? She owns one home, on a one acre lot. She doesn't have anything to gain from serving the town. She has a record of service in business and in charity work. Her career in business, and her executive experience in a fortune 500 company can provide the town of Weddington some expertise this town has never seen. |

1 You tell me Barbara Harrision is the best qualified for Mayor because of her business experience. Vice Presidents in the business world are dictators. They tell the staff what to do and they do it. In government, it is by consensus. I will agree. Our present Mayors try to act like a dictator. That being said, None of you have told me where and what dose she stands for or against. I know she wants to help with traffic congestion. But, doses not support the Rea Road Ext. Rea Road Ext. Is a major road to relieve traffic in downtown Weddington area. |

I believe that is an issue (rea rd.) that has already been addressed by the current town council and the transportation plan that has been in the works for 18 months within this region. That road is already with DOT and is a done deal. Move forward will you. If you went to current town council meetings you would know that is not a issue in the campaign, but oh yea, no one running has gone to any of the town council meetings, they just read the minutes! Barbara is at all the council meetings.
For the record: In the next minutes you will read, the Weddington Town Council approved the transportation plan that includes that road, the connector road, and all the other improvements from the 18 month study. Dictator, Oh..... we all knew you would have to "REACH" to find something that is self serving... so her self serving interest is "she is a dictator". You don't know her personality, and after 30 years in the business world and 16 years in a fortune 500 company and years of public service in community volunteerism .... you have labeled her that? Sad! Let's get to your candidate.....what are their credentials?, since you love to smear the most qualified candidate, but you do not share any of your candidates qualifications. Let's see - Hughie Sexton, did nothing to support the sewer plant fight last year. Nope, no town council meetings. Nope! Walker Davidson - Don't believe we saw him at any sewer hearings either. So which one of those fine citizens that stood up last year for the biggest issue in Weddington's history would you like for us to support? By the way at my company the vice presidents that work for us, all know how to delegate. It makes our company successful to hire delegators to those positions. Dictators would not last too long. |

1 * Barbara is for keeping our taxes low and preserving the quality of life we all enjoy, while maintaining high property values.(She has proven this last year, with the community support against a private sewer plant in our town) Barbara is for responsible, transparent government.(She has proven this by going to almost every town council meeting for the last three years to watch elected officials actions). Barbara is for helping the existing businesses in our town prosper and stay alive during the Hwy 16 widening project. Let's promote these existing businesses, they provide our town tax revenue. Barbara wants to work with the county to provide needed infrastructure to the existing residents in our community. Do you realize a lot of Weddington citizens do not have water, gas lines or sewer lines? What would those existing residents of our town do, if their wells went dry in the draught, or their septic systems totally failed, with no other options? Let's build cooperation with the county commissioners, lets build alliances with our neighboring towns and county govt. Don't you think neighborhoods that are desperate for water choices in Weddington (other than a well) should have an advocate? We do. I can go on and on, with things she sees as issues, but I will stop for now. She has a proven record of leadership and is willing to take on that role for our community. I think it is a great opportunity for Weddington to actually have someone of her caliber want to be a public servant. Join with Barbara and help her campaign. |

1 I understand the issues she supports. Water and Sewer, Traffic congestion, helping the merchants in the shopping center. But, that is the same thing all the candidates, for Mayor and Council are saying. You ask me. What are my candidates qualifications? I have not replied because I do not have one. I am looking for one to support. Let us just take the Water and Sewer issue (my questions can apply to any issue) what is her plan. You have stated she is going to work with the county. Great. What is her plan to accomplish bring water and sewer to Weddington. We are all aware of the counties problems in this area so I will not go there. Here are my questions. 1. How is she going to get the county to bring water and sewer to Weddington? Who will be paying for it? 2. If she is successful in getting water and sewer lines down all major roads. How is she going to get these lines into the older sub-divisions? Again, how is this going to be paid for? 3. What is her time frame to accomplish this? I agree the shopping center needs help due to 16 being widen. What is her time frame and what is her plan. My biggest problem with most candidates is they say what we what the hear. But, really have no plan to accomplish what they promise. I have read Ms. Harrison’s comments in the Union Weekly and find them to be general in nature. |
