And - this is news....why? OK big deal. Downtown Belmont is a big checkerboard anyway. It's a revolving door. This time next year they will be moved somewhere else - or gone. No stability in Beermont.

Excited for South Main Cycles and their growth. There is a new trend in this country for more interest in all things bicycles and I am so glad Belmont is part of it! Beautiful new shop btw you should drop in and take a look at what an asset his business is to Belmont!

Wher have you been? The bike shop has been in Belmont for a long time. Just moved from across the tracks to the train station. No news here. Provisions is a nice store but chances are slim that it will be around long, but I wish them well.

Just this weekend I was driving on one of Belmont's roads - which the taxpayers paid for to put in bike lanes for our biking " neighbors". I'm not against that - BUT when they don't use them! It makes me furious! Two or three bikers riding a abreast on Catawba and only one riding in the bike lane. Everyone else had to swerve. THIS is why we don't like bikers!!!!! Rude and inconsiderate!!!!!

The schools are not the responsibility of the Federal Government. The State and County Government are responsible for the schools.

Boy are you uninformed! Yes- it is true the bulk of their operation is funded by state and local...but right now the U.S. Dept of Ed is controlling everything - it's a top down thing. Common Core and Race to the Top money is driving almost everything going on...and controlling ( wasting) millions of dollars. The Federal Gov't HAS assumed responsibility with unfunded mandates. Sorry - you missed that one by a mile!
